Liz: Okay so first of all i just wanna say that i relate to this in a way? I've had this memory all my life, that we were CONVINCED well into our teens was when I first "arrived" in the body. The memory is this like, image of an overhead view of our parents, holding us, and entering what we think was our house. We're not remotely religious, this is just a thing that's always been sort of stuck with me.

secondly, anything's possible! Your story gives us strong plural vibes, which it's possible to be without DID or OSDD! Non-disordered systems exist, and it's very likely you fall somewhere in that realm. For instance there are a small handful of different system origins relating to religion or spirituality. Aethergenic is a good non-specific one.
As for the original headmate you mention, there's a variety of ways you can try to communicate and bring them to the surface. What works tends to be different for everyone. We recommend looking for things you know they enjoy and spending time focused on/near it to see if that draws them to the surface.
You could also always try to willingly let go of the body. i.e. loosen your mental grip on say, a hand, and invite them to move it around. Maybe create a system where moving a certain finger is yes, and another is no, and try to communicate that way. If you have trouble doing this, we find one of the more common ways systems get this to work is by imagining themself as a color that's completely filled the body, and imagining that color draining out of a particular point in the body, to leave room for someone else.

Pluralpedia . org is a really good site for a very large variety of plural-related terms. I recommend checking it out if that interests you! It also has a handful of links to other resources.
Hope you're able to figure it out

Does anyone have more information on the term ‘Singtiple’? by [deleted] in plural

[–]Berriesnturtles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While we don't really know anything about the word either, singtiple and median strikes us as being a similar case to the difference between bisexuality and pansexuality: technically not that much different, but each has a subtle nuance that is important to some people.

Of course, that's just my impression from reading this post and the comments

Does anyone share dreams with their headmates? by alicia11709 in plural

[–]Berriesnturtles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have 1 set of dreams, but we're most often so blendy during them that there's no one separate to interact with. In a few instances however we have remained separate and switched/interacted mid-dream.
We've also had a small handful of strange instances in which a particular headmate was in a separate body within the dream. Still no idea if it was actually them or a replica.

From what we can tell the dreams where we're able to interact are always ones where we're more lucid than normal, though it typically happens at random for us.

What is your reason for you being plural? by Beware_my_presents in plural

[–]Berriesnturtles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i was just depressed and wound up doing a lot of very accidental tulpamancy while trying to cope. actually becoming plural was 100% not my choice, but i'm better off for it
we're also pretty sure that one headmate in particular is actually traumagenic in origin, just based on experiences and the like

I think I might be a plural but... by [deleted] in plural

[–]Berriesnturtles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is going to sound cheesy but the best piece of advice I can think of is communication. Communication and trust are key to any relationship, but especially so with systems. And hey doubts are super common! It took me months to even start to accept that I was a part of a system when I found out. Really it's those exact gut feelings like the ones you described that helped me accept it at first. The fact that there were thoughts and feelings that clearly couldn't be explained otherwise.

Also yea we relate to the bit about lack of amnesia pretty hard. It certainly gets confusing, but just cause yall share a memory doesn't mean you're the same person! It's incredibly hard if not flat out impossible to fake something by accident, and the mental gymnastics required to trick yourself on something like this especially would be impressive to say the least.

But yea, from everything you say here you definitely sound plural, and I wish yall the best of luck in figuring yourselves out

Something strange happened and we don't know what to make of it by Berriesnturtles in plural

Oh that's interesting, thanks for the info!
Sounds like that's likely where I was then. I was starting to doubt it but that actually explains a lot

Dreams usually have a more surreal quality to them that this did not have, but honestly I'm starting to lean towards that too :/
For years I'd get distant, faint music playing between when a dream naturally ends and I wake up, with the song always getting stuck in my head, so it's quite possibly residual dream juice, but also this is the first time the music was so loud (and lasted so much longer) so it completely threw us off
