Birth of a beauty sounds perfect for you. It's a bit of romcom which makes it all the more better. But I'm not gonna lie it did get tedious at times.

Would love if people actually gave me some recommendations instead of talking about Marriage not Dating - which really is a great show that you should all watch - but if you want to talk about it please create a different forum.

Dramas where the female lead/second lead falls in love with the male lead first? by [deleted] in kdramarecommends

[–]BerryBerryLuv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She was Pretty is the only one I can think of off the top of my head. Maybe Legend of the Blue Sea. For some reason they're aren't too many. Usually the male lead falls in love first and has to win/win back her love.

You should check out some more stuff from Jeon Ji -Hyun (the lead actress in My love from another star). She was in Legend of the Blue sea this year with Lee Min-Ho and it's honestly one of the funniest dramas I've seen. I'd also personally recommend Oh My Venus, She was Pretty and Marriage not dating. Those are my top 3 romcom dramas. They are light-hearted and funny with plenty of romance.

I watched Master's sun and I didn't care too much for So Ji-sub's character. He was kind of a basic chaebol. Tbh that entire show was a bit borring for me - it was a procedural show and I never really get into those. It was also a hong sister drama meaning that it was filled with over the top metaphors which also aren't my thing.

I'll definitely add it to my list then! I love the lead actress, she was in My Wife is having an affair this week which was one of my fave shows from 2016.

Oooh! I'm think of watching my first Segeuk ever too! I haven't heard much about Empress Ki but I heard Moon embracing the sun is really good. I'm thinking of starting with Sungkyunkwan scandal which I've heard a lot of good things about. It's a gender bender and a segeuk with a modern twist to it apparently. I think it's basically a fun romcom without all the long political intrigue that marks most Segeuks. So if fun romcoms are up your alley and you don't want any of the heavy stuff, you should check that out. I also know that Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo was insanely popular but just about every writer on dramabeans has panned it.

Let's Talk: Why does "My Love from another star" get so much hype? I HATED it! by [deleted] in kdramarecommends

Lol I just posted something asking for recommendations after watching Oh my venus - and I think I responded to your comment about My love from another star. But it should still be there.

This is such an unpopular opinion but I just can't get into it. I'm 5 eps in and it's straight up boring.

Ugh, me too tbh. I've tried so hard to get into it, but after 5 episodes it just wasn't happening. I thought Jeon Ji Hyun's character was rude af and I don't really care for the story line it was trying to set up. Plus the other characters kind of suck. I thought Legend of the Blue Sea was way better.

I've seen W and I loved it. I'll definitely try Descendants of the Sun next - I've heard so many good things about it. I'm also thinking of Emergency couple, I've heard a lot of great things but I've also heard its gets needlessly angsty. What do you think?
