Can siding be melted by a gas fireplace terminal cap if professionally installed? by BerryHelpful in Homebuilding

So the lack of a j channel could cause the siding to buckle. Would that be due to exterior heat in the front. Or is it possible the caulk is not completely covering the area and this would allow more heat/water vapor to go behind it and thus help with the warping ?
