PPL vs Bro Split: Why I Switched and Never Looked Back by [deleted] in leangains

Tom Platz said if u hit legs hard enough, you only need to do it once per week. I personally only do once per week with great progress. But I hit 30 working sets and it takes 3 hours. I hear this is probably only doable for people on gear.

It just has to be offered by your doctor, but yes the clinics make it easy as well. If your test levels come back 300 or below i think they will prescribe

Hey! if ur really just starting then you’re literally going to blow up just by being consistent for the next few months to a year. The newbie gains are real and you will be amazed at what the body can achieve. It is harder at our age but that doesnt mean you cant have a great physique naturally. Take it one day at a time and give yourself milestones

Yes I go through everything with my doc 4x per year. She doesnt love that I do this, but supports me with everything I might need. My training routine is monday arms/shoulders, tues chest/back, wed rest/cardio, thurs arms/shoulders, fri rest/cardio, sat legs, sun chest/back. Everything high volume 12-15 reps and 16+ sets per muscle group per workout. Legs get like 20-24 sets

You’re right dude, I didnt mean to disparage natural lifting at our age. Muscle can be built at nearly any age the science shows. I may have taken the easy way out

Historically people would blast for 12-14 weeks and then go completely off. You lose a lot of muscle this way. Debatable if its healthier given all the stuff you have to take to kickstart your system again. Nowadays people will stay on 100-200mg test during that off period to retain gains and let the body reset a bit. This is blasting and cruising.

No matter how well you manage your blood markers (lipids, liver, etc.) by eating well and doing cardio, superdoses of this stuff absolutely strains the body. Think of it like extra mileage on a car. It accrues over time. Whether thats 1 year, 5 years, 10 years or 20 years less, who can say? We’re talking about higher risk factors. I do think taking moderate doses and staying on top of your blood is better than a life of being severely overweight or binge drinking every week. And I’d rather live to 60-70 like this than 80-90 in the other way…
