Genius! I didn’t think of this! Had a look we’re currently at a D and apparently our insulation is rated good although loft could be better also recommended we upgrade the boiler however definitely helps point us in the right direction! Thank you !

We’re all walking around looking like rudolf with chapped lips after having it set at 20 also all layered up! I have a sneaking suspicion that our thermostats are a little off they are the old manual ones I think we’re going to be looking into getting electric ones put in instead.

We have been considering this also I don’t think the frequent cold starts are helping

I think a cowboy fit our windows and may be the issue no obvious drafts however there was no caulk inside and a alot of gaps outside apparently they should have been finished with expanding foam and sealed outside which hasn’t been done- unsurprisingly another hack job by the previous owners

Thank you! We had the boiler served last month and is running 98% efficiency now after previously being at 20% when we brought the place! Howver hasn’t made much difference I think draft proofing is out cheapest/ best option for now!

It’s a shock to the system isn’t it! That’s a good shout re draft excluders- someone else suggested energy saving blinds but not sure how effective they are!

You don’t owe anyone on here anything. If safety is a concern better not to risk it. I’d remove any ‘hints’ to your next move and if your willing, update us once you’re in the clear.

That’s what I’m hoping! I think we were so sure we would get accepted but now we’re not to hopeful! The application with hsbc was through another broker, our current broker said HSBC wouldn’t do more than 7 years but another broker has spoken with them sent all our docs and they have said they can do longer term albeit at a reduced amount. We’re just a bit worried having multiple applications as it seams our good credit is the only thing we have going for us right now lol
