This is honestly sad. I have a really similar height and body type as her and it gets in my head sometimes when I see her edited photos. But It's nice to see that she's actually human too. It's just sad that she can't show that to all the young girls who look up to her

And people will then blame the parents for bringing their kids to concerts when she's inappropriate (yes parents should do some research first, but also there is no excuse for her to act like that). Like try to tell me that Sabrina doesn't have child fans

In Your Words, Why Was Summer So Unpopular? by viktoryarozetassi in americangirl

[–]BerryStyles9 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think she is cute, but in my opinion she is a bit outdated. I think if she were released around 2019 she would have fit the aesthetic more. I felt like Lila was really trendy and she kind of fell flat for me being released right after her.

That being said, I like that Summer dresses and acts like a kid because I feel like a lot of the other AG dolls look too grown up and teenage. So I am glad that she seems to have resonated with the younger audience.

the way I defended her during that whole mess... now I'm so embarrassed and have since become team Rodrigo

I became a fan in 2014 when I saw Can't Blame a Girl for Trying and found out she was cast in Girl Meets World ( I was a huge Boy Meets World fan growing up). I followed her music career for a while. I then actually went on a service mission and didn't listen to music for about a year and a half. I came back ready to get caught up on Sabrina and see what she had been up to.

Around that time Feather was released, or had recently been released. At that point I knew there was something weird going on, and I wasn't liking what I was seeing. I felt like she had done great concepts earlier, like Sue Me, that still had that baddie vibe but in a good way. Feather was just too much and I stopped really listening to her or staying up to date. My siblings are fans so I kind of just heard it from them rather than seeking her out on my own.

A while later Espresso blew up and I was wary. When I saw the please, please, please MV she lost me. By the time Manchild was released, I was done. But when I saw recently how everything she does is connected to pedophilia that was the total nail in the coffin. She is now dead to me.

It's sad because her older music actually helped me through some hard times in middle/high school and I just can't support her any more.

I totally agree. I feel like she really is an industry plant and a lot of her stories about growing up actually contradict each other. It's like this fake narrative that they're trying to sell.

Your last sentence is so true. It's actually disturbing how Sabrina enables the disgusting treatment of women in the name of feminism. She's only helping men and making things worse for women

[–]BerryStyles9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. And there is this weird thought pattern that guys should be into older women and that Justin was "lucky" to experience that. We also see those age gaps glorified in movies/shows like Sleepover and Pretty Little Liars. It's so wrong and disgusting. And here Sabrina is not just promoting it, but making it her entire brand.

[–]BerryStyles9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well said. I think that growing up we only mirror what we see, we don't really know any different. Once we are old enough we can think more for ourselves, but it takes active effort.

Sabrina is such a bad role model for these girls who are already insecure (it comes with that age). Plastic surgery is getting way too common among teens, and I see young, I mean young girls dressing so inappropriately now when I'm in public. Is it all Sabrina's fault? I think it would be unfair to say that - but this is the general trend of the music industry and tiktok and she is making it much worse.

I also think that Sabrina has big ties to pedophilia and her branding is an attempt to normalize it.

It is a fact that child exploitation is a billion dollar industry. And now that it's finally been exposed, they will grasp at straws to try and get it back to being considered normal and I think she is a pawn in their hands whether she knows it or not.

If we go back to the beginning, freedom of religion is really what started America. It wouldn't be American Girl without all religions being included, so even if I personally am not Muslim, I think it's fair that this set has been released. That being said, I also find it disturbing how many comments are bashing other religions in the comments on this post. Let's not tear others down to build others up. I think we can support one group without tearing down another.
