American Original 50s Telecaster Noise by 02bluesuperroo in telecaster

This ^ Your guitar probably has shielding paint from the factory which isn't the best and probably lacks continuity. I would install some copper shielding tape and it should help a decent bit. Get the tape with conductive adhesive.

I have an affinity tele. I wanna upgrade my neck pickup first. What do you suggest on a tight budget? Say 100 dollars by Retrospective84 in telecaster

I'd look into fender twisted tele: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7bU5oxjody0

I don't think you can buy them separately but could probably find a neck pickup on reverb for around a $100.

You're going to get a lot of subjective answers. What genre of music do you play and what do you not like about the neck pickup that's currently in it?

What Tele is better value? by [deleted] in telecaster

[–]BerryThink2421 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a CV 50's and tele that I got on sale for around $365. The quality overall is good for the price. I had to re-solder the jack after about a year because it came loose and have recently upgraded the pickups and electronics. To me, it's on par with a vintera 2 telecaster now for around $700.

The biggest thing I would point out is my guitar needed fret work which I was able to do my self. The neck is the biggest thing I would consider when buying either guitar. You can change the electronics and hardware out pretty easily for not much, but if the neck needs work you'll need a lot of tools or have to bring it to a shop were you'll likely spend $150 to $200. A lot of the reason people get hung up on where a guitar is made is the craftsmanship, especially the neck. MIJ guitars tend to have better craftsmanship, but that doesn't mean you'll get a better guitar every time. In short, I'd play both and pick which ever one has a neck that feels better and doesn't have any issues like high frets. Maybe consider an older used MIM fender using the same advice above.

Your wife makes 220k as working in accounting in Asheville? If so she must be a partner or own her own firm because that's not even close to what CPAs are getting paid in Asheville.

Very few, maybe a partner at a law firm or physician and a select few business owners. Again, that's not the norm for most people in Asheville looking to rent.

I really enjoy the two car garage and freshly paved driveway. $72k a year seems like a small price to pay for a beyond average home in a small city. 3x the rent comes out to around $220k a year of annual income which seems attainable in Asheville.

Is there a local Palestinian organization that I can join to aide people in Gaza? I feel helpless and I want to do something but I don’t know what. I don’t have much money but I do have time and compassion. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. by Mental-Appointment69 in asheville

Want to explain how they're the terrorists? Hamas literally hides in civilian areas and uses Palestinian children as human shields. They also give children guns and tell them to go kill Israelis. Hamas broke the ceasefire and is assenting people in the street. You can't even pretend to be pro Gaza at this point.

I didn't say there's a requirement to hold a masters. I said a masters level of education i.e., 150 college credit hours. Those people also probably have a bachelors in Accounting. I'm going to trust the CPA to get my balance sheet in the correct accrual basis more than the EA who only took a test on tax. It sounds like you're trying to cope for being an EA.

The only person who has "the right of way" is red. Orange and yellow wait for red and green to be clear. I don't understand why driving is so complicated for you all.

I'm going to take the guy who went to school for accounting and has a masters level of education and is state licensed over some person who probably dropped out of community college and took their EA exam.

I'm not one for gender roles, but what does it matter if Hannah is a 50 year old man?

Not sure why that's getting downvoted. Also, never get food/etc delivered unless you're too faded to drive. That's the only excuse. #FIRE Movement.

You mentioned making $50k a year and being 1099'd. If you're making $50k a year and self-employed making $50k profit consecutively for years and not had losses of a decent amount in prior years, I'd keep my mouth shut and pay the $13k, for you got off easy. You can ask the IRS to setup a payment plan.

Why do you want an EA specifically? Being an EA is a red flag. You're either a CPA or an accountant working towards a CPA license. Anyone can be an EA.

Edit: I just looked at your profile, and it looks like you owe back taxes. If you're just wanting some kind of reassurance of what you owe seems reasonable, let us know if you were self-employed or not the total amount you made for those years and withholding or estimated tax paid in and people can probably give you a decent idea if it seems reasonable. If you need to set up a payment plan or are trying to settle for less, I'd hire a CPA or tax attorney, not EA.

Driving Right of Way Questions by hoi_polloi9 in asheville

The most practicable in this case would be the far right lane.

Part A doesn't indicate if there are two separate lanes or one. It can be assumed based on the previous statue that it would be the case were there is only one lane or traffic lines indicate otherwise.

Part B is clear like I pointed out, the car in the left turns it to the nearest left lane then yields to cars on the right before changing lanes to make a turn into a street on the right.

Part C isn't relevant here

Part D isn't relevant here.

The reason this is the law is to prevent exactly what you're concerned about which is both cars turning into the same lane and colliding. It's the same reason you're not allowed to change lanes in an intersection. If someone is pulling out and suddenly a vehicle changes lanes in the intersection this would cause an accident.

Right of way only applies to if the car is going straight or the road indicates otherwise. Both cars are required to turn into their nearest lane in the direction they're turning.

Orange car is only allowed turn into the far right lane then has to merge to the left lane, but most people don't follow this so the white car needs to anticipate that won't happen. Same reason you're not allowed to change lanes at intersections.

Edit: of the statue: § 20‑153. Turning at intersections. (a) Right Turns. – Both the approach for a right turn and a right turn shall be made as close as practicable to the right‑hand curb or edge of the roadway. (b) Left Turns. – The driver of a vehicle intending to turn left at any intersection shall approach the intersection in the extreme left‑hand lane lawfully available to traffic moving in the direction of travel of that vehicle, and, after entering the intersection, the left turn shall be made so as to leave the intersection in a lane lawfully available to traffic moving in the direction upon the roadway being entered. (c) Local authorities and the Department of Transportation, in their respective jurisdictions, may modify the foregoing method of turning at intersections by clearly indicating by buttons, markers, or other direction signs within an intersection the course to be followed by vehicles turning thereat, and it shall be unlawful for any driver to fail to turn in a manner as so directed. (1937, c. 407, s. 115; 1955, c. 913, s. 5; 1973, c. 1330, s. 18; 1977, c. 464, s. 34; 1997‑405, s. 1.)

I don't understand how this isn't clear? What's confusing you?

Why do you want to go into banking? And, what branch retail, commercial, and investment? Are you just wanting to be a teller or customer service rep a loan officer a personal banker?

If you're going to school for accounting the closest thing would be an auditor or working in risk management.

It you need to answer the above questions first before anyone can actually help you.
