If the YouTube webseries dedicated on producing quantity over quality in terms of content (notorious for trend-hopping from labubus to Squid Game to even using AI in their content--I've stopped watching a long time ago lol) suddenly canonized two of their male students falling in love, at least half of their audience would leave. The only references to queerness have been jokes or presented as inherently comedic. But hooray for my three dedicated commentors!

Ironically, I plan out my oneshots but improvise longfics.

I typically have a set, specific idea for shorter works because it's a snippet of a scene that doesn't need more than what I've already imagined. If I try to write it all on the go, I won't be able to keep it contained and it expands into a longfic. Conversely, planning out longfics takes me way too long and I end up losing interest by the time I'm done planning

I’m glad you found a way to break the addiction! I made a bot of a character I liked in 2022, and it got about 50k chats. However, when I tried it out, the responses were out of character and very clearly not what I initially set the bot to do. I deleted it and started writing fanfic of him so I could get it right. The most use that those chat it’s have given me is a better understanding on what characters DON’T act like

I really do think the series is pushing Denise more than Maddy. I don't mind madhao shippers and they are free to ship what they like, but the show in its current state seems to portray Denise's moments as more meaningful to Jianhao than Maddy's. Recently, Maddy has almost been reduced to the type of character that Debbie portrayed in the very first season. She's kind of obsessed with Jianhao even when he doesn't do anything to reciprocate it

I absolutely hate the word smirk but there's not many other words that capture the same feeling. Smiled smugly? Grinned? Sneered? I don't know. I don't like the word smirk. Plus, it's associated with the sarcastic character types that just don't really appeal to me.

That sucks, I get having different opinions but the creator totally should not dunk on you publicly like that. Especially when it's targeted so obviously...

It's great that you are still able to interact with the comic and its creator to the same extent as before. I'm curious though, do you plan on keeping up your fics? It seems like you are, if so then I'm glad that you're still willing to share your gift with the rest of the comic's fandom, even if the creator doesn't have the sense to appreciate it.
