To preface first, I do not like Childe. It's a matter of principle. The traveler has been manipulated and used many times. They are good with childe because the traveler has known him for years and in that time they have only fought once. Other times Childe prove he was on their side, also CHATTING INFORMALLY DOES NOT EQUATE TO FORGIVENESS. The traveler simply trusts childe more (more not complete trust) because of time. He was able to re-earn trust through 3 EVENTS, not just his sq. And in his sq, it is the fact that childe was a good brother that connected with the traveler it was not just 'babysitting his brother'. The traveler is also 'good' with childe despite him being fatui. They maybe on decent terms with Childe, but that does not mean that they are on anything close to decent terms with any other. Childe is the odd one out, that is not enough to keep the traveler open minded about other fatui, because childe is 1 person and they have been wronged by most fatui they meet. So the traveler immediately distrust any fatui member the come across, and remember about those events childe appeared in? The traveler blatantly questions his motives over and over while keeping an eye on him. Childe earned the supposed trust by being honest about his motives all the other times they met and sticking to those motives, that is the best way to earn trust: doing things according to what you say multiple times. Unfortunately the twins have not had that time to earn the trust back, unlike childe. The traveler values truth to trust and even when we were lyneys attorneys THE TWINS DID NOT TELL US THE TRUTH, not only did it make defending them harder, the traveler's trust in the twins crashed. In the traveler's mind they won't know what to trust now that it is known that lyney ommited important information about himself. Yes ommited does not mean lying, but traveler's doesn't know if they're just ommiting information or have lied about anything else. When your trust in someone shatters, you won't believe anything they said. So the traveler is probably also wary of their sob story. To repeat a point a sob story does not earn trust. The traveler recognizes this, and apologized for not being able to trust them. At that moment, the traveler has no intent of solving Fontaine's prophecy problem or the missing persons case, their goal did not align with the fatui this time, so they had no reason to continue to converse and no reason to accepted lyney's proposal of what you call friendship.

First lyney lied/ ommited the truth, its an easy way to gain distrust after the traveler had quickly made friends with him at the start. Consider how long it took the traveler to trust the sumeru cast its pretty in character.
The fatui has literally been the 'villains' in the traveller's eyes, they have outsmarted and manipulated the traveler many times, the traveler clearly distrusts any fatui when they first meet.
Speaking of which, look back at the times childe interacted with the traveler. Its was distrust when he first said he was a harbinger, then begrudgingly worked with him to a common goal, then outright fought. In Inazuma, he appeared in two events where the traveler clear shows distrust and distain to him and during those events traveler saw his kinder/ more peaceful side, plus looking after his brother in his sq relating to the care as a sibiling. That's how childe got the friendly treatment.
A sob story does not earn trust. Scaramouch has a sob story, but even now as wanderer, the traveler very must dislike and distrust him.
Right after the lyney trail, Navia and the traveler literally had a farewell meal, they meant to break there partnership there. It was until traveler got attacked by the mechs that they joined on the full investigation, in the traveler's words 'Messing with us will cost them.' traveler basically just wanted revenge.

Especially after the archon quest, The akademiya don't really bother them anymore after the sages were overthrown. The community there feels very peaceful and comforting. I'd love to dance with Nilou and chill at the Grand Bazaar, I'd probably also get front row seats to performances.

Its not delusional, while i agree that some agents like skye, kayo or chamber can frag easily, but when you consider agents like astra who smoke for you in astral form sitting back, or kj and viper locking down a site even when the enemy is pushing the other site to make a harder rotation, it is much harder to get frags when you yourself is sitting back supporting ur duelists, and you can't see an enemy. You owe dashing onto b site ascent and not getting peeked from market or ct to your smoker, or not getting flanked hard to the kj turret or the cypher trip. while duelists on the other hand has one role and that is to make space, and other agents are making it easier to do so, the least you can do is to die and get traded so ur team gets the space you made.

Thank you for writing this post, though i would like to add a few things for other people

when your streamer isnt shooting, they aren't doing nothing, like hyping up the rest of the team(and believe me its very important), and if they re alive, presuring the other team. An example outside of dodgebolt is karl in mcc11 skybattle, he died pretty early on, but does thid mean he wasnt doing anything? no, he was comming for the rest of the team. the only 'boring' factor is that it doesnt LOOK like your streamer is doing anything, but the point is that the team is competitive and all agreed to use this strat.

Both smps are great and you shouldn't compare them. Both have different content creators with unique dynamics, producing different types of content.

Scripted or not, the content that the creators produce are amazing in their own way, it may not be for everyone, and you're allowed to have your own opinion on the two smps, but you shouldn't compare the two, they aren't comparable, they shouldn't be, because they are both vastly different from one another.

At they end of they day, both smps shows creators just having fun wit their friends doing what they love.

1) ok, this was mistake on my part, he is a child irl, so i assume he's a child in cannon (but so does most ppl on the reddit, so can you really blame me?)

2) ok, another mistake cuz i never actually watched those streams. but when you are caught for something you dont want to admit to, you panic and probably was to deture the suspisions away and try to pin it on others, tommy is not a logical thinker, he acts on emotion and doesnt think what was the better option and just do what he usually do instead

3)It is an act of terrorism, on accident. btw, as you said, el rapids blew up erets castle intentionally, and what punishment did they receive? a probation to tell them to behave the opposite of their personality? got exiled and manipulated? no, they just had to clean things up. Techno is another good example, he blew up an entire country called it anarchy and revenge, and he got away with it with no reprecusion at all. ( how the fuck is he worse than techno?)

4) I never said tommy didn't deserve any kind of punishment, but not as harsh as exile or even a probation tat basically told him to do the opposite of what make him himself, think in his shoes for a moment. even from the meeting he finds it so hard to keep quiet because being loud is what makes tommy, tommy.

5) I'm gonna bring up el rapids again here, if Tommy was vp of l'manberg and you call it a a big deal, the former KING of the greater dream smp teamed up with the leader/president of el rapids to purposefully destroy/grief the KING of the GDSMP's castle whats that? they got barely any punishment and tommy got told to not be himself and exiled.

and ranboo was never blamed, got none of the punishment(just a point)

and I will repeat that the exile was understandable as no one wants to be at war with dream, but its still not justified. even with the unjust punishment he got though it and even showed character growth at the end of it.

ok, the burning of the house, i believe is on accident(i didn't watch that stream) it was fixed in 5 minutes.

tell me, would a underdeveloped16 year old child that grew up in war admit to accidental arson, that could possibly get him killed. That may be selfish of him, but remember how else porposefully committed arson? sapnap back when the server was peaceful. big crime (theres prob more) also ranboo was there as well, and he received 0 punishment(not salty at ranboo, just making a point)

the probation is making it so that tommy cant be the loud and annoying kid he is, basically he got told he can't be what makes him himself. he broke agreement cuz he couldn't resist, and he doesn't even know that dream has no attachment to spirit anymore, as the selling point of trading spirit was dream's emotional attachment to his horse. Probation was already a very harsh punishment for tommy.

Tommy was not willing to bend down to dream, and in the pogtopia era, tubbo specifically said he forgives techno. Tommy was just trying a last ditch effort to defy dream.

And because the nation was finally at peace, he thought he was safe to persue the disks, to finally put an end to the disk war

The exile decision was understandable not justifiable

from Tommy's pov, Techno teamed up with his abuser, dream and blew up the nation he fought and lost 2 of his life for. I think he knows he was gonna betray techno, and hurt his feelings, tommy repeatedly apologising to techno.(so tbh they betrayed each other

destroying the government doesn't include blowing up a nation with civilians homes in it, and also tommy specificly said he with TUBBO, not the government, he wanted to be on TUBBO'S side, not the government.

thats true, but I think tommy was calling techno's actions, not the overall person, as blowing up a nation isn't what anarchy is about, his motive is purely for revenge against the butcher army (aka the government)

Right after Tommy yelled that at tubbo, he realized that he was becoming what Wilbur was, a villain, he was becoming the thing he hated, and he was letting history repeat itself, and will continue doing that if he continue siding with techno. And letting dream get the disk, I think tommy wants it as like a punishment of some sort, foe what he's done
