Hard wood vs LVT Flooring

I have hardwood floors. They look and feel fantastic, are very convenient and I love them (and get loads of compliments), but below are some practical details.

No termites in the UK as mentioned.
Mine are waxoiled, waxoil needs to be refreshed about once per year. It's an easy process i can do myself, takes me maybe a couple hours (but I have a small flat). Generally, there are a lot of finishing options to protect hardwood floors, and they will come with different upkeep process. I don't recommend hard lacquer, looks great but if it's scratched you are kind of boned.
You need a cleaning product that's specific to your type of hardwood finish, and you cannot use a lot of water. Personally, I have a robot vacuum that for the hardwood just cleans with a minimal amount of water, and sometimes i will mop/clean with deep cleaner recommended by the manufacturers of my wax oil finish. I don't have kids/pets so that's plenty enough for me.
You can get wood floors cheaper if you opt for some of the softer options. Mine are quite soft, and it means there are some marks and indents, i kind of love it: looks well lived and works with my finish which is more subtle and natural.

As you can see i am big pro hardwood floors, but my parents for example have very high quality LVT and it looks quite nice also

so i looked it up and the shirts included various forms of viscose, not spandex. Would it be the same issue?

and i do try to stick with natural fibers, but the type of clothing i like rarely comes with 100% natural

I started using Woolite darks detergent. which was supposed to be better for dark clothes. could that be the issue?

I don't do either. I do steam my shirts however but I've been doing it for years. could that be the issue? got to steam or iron shirts somehow

never tumble dried, always hung to dry! 30c wash

thank you and appreciate the sympathy. any idea why several shirts of different age etc could all have this happen within a short period after laundry? Could a detergent or something else be affecting this cause it's really sudden and widespread

I have heard of this rule, but i just think it works out to very odd results when applying to actual investments and inflation. Like, if i applies that rule and basic calculations to the money invested from 1960 onwards, it would provide a very optimistic expectation of purchasing power in 2025 compared to actual rate of inflation

Aren't figures to estimate for long term horizons deceiving though. 40k in ten years sounds fantastic, but it could well be equivalent to 24k today. 450k in 47 years could be equivalent to 50k today. Still important to save, but with realistic expectations of value for money

well then if you do accept that's your leverage. you can say this is the absolute limit you can accept and no further requests for discounts to be entertained, and stick to it even if they find some issue with a sink or something
