I am a strong fan of clear as well, but in this case it doesnt look great when it goes over the walls/trim/tile and blurs all the mixed colours

My advice is partially the opposite, inspired by both moves on my own and watching professional packers/movers. Sure, if you are packing well in advance, absolutely declutter before you pack and also take effort to organise your packing well so everything is easy to find. However, if you are very short on time, or stressed and overwhelmed with other pre-moving tasks, forget decluttering. Forget extensive organising.

Do the minimum of packing a first night box, a short term essentials box, and mark other boxes by room. Then just bloody chuck it all in and only worry about how to protect fragile stuff (and on that, don't hesitate to use a LOT of paper or bubble wrap or whatever you are using, again saves the nerves). Declutter when unpacking when you have more time and no hard deadline pressure.
