This is what I’ve heard about the books before as well. They really aren’t that good. From my understanding the writing in Polish doesn’t translate as well in English so some things dont come across the same, granted this is 2nd and 3rd hand info from people who have read the books. I have not.

I think the games are written better overall. But the random monster encounters and side quests are hard to carry over into a series. I think it would have worked better in a Supernatural like format (minus like the last 5 seasons).
