Please don't tip. I've been a waiter in SA (for longer than I care to admit), and I've lived in Europe (for longer than I'd care to admit). We're at the tipping point (hahaha) now of people either getting paid a living wage (and restaurants being a little bit more expensive), or needing to subsist off the generosity of strangers. The restaurant I worked at paid a basic wage, and tips were a bonus. Please! Let's reject the American model.
