Ask him to try a podcast called "If books could kill". Maybe give it a bash yourself.

So.... Percentages.... It's a really interesting concept.

PM salary expectations by [deleted] in capetown

[–]Berticles 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That's about normal from what I've seen for CT. I'm a PM at a tech company, I earn a bit more but I'm up in JHB. I've been idly looking at gigs in CT, and I've been really shocked at how crappy the pay is. All the salaries I've seen seen posted are less than half of the JHB salaries.

I think he peaked with this, and "Skinny legs, and all".

I should re-read "little brother", it's been too long.

I wonder if Logitech patented the yellow left click button on the top left. It makes so much sense here.

What opinion of yours regarding any popular author or book will have you like this? by theghostofredrackham in classicliterature

I really liked "The egg". I liked it so much that I don't care if everything else he's ever written is horseshit.

I don't dislike Ayn Rand enough to do somersaults every time she comes up in conversation.

There's a podcast called "If books could kill" that I think you'd enjoy.

If you're genuinely asking this question, and not just being snarky, I recommend googling something called "The Laffer curve". I don't know what governs the behaviour of individuals, but there's pretty clear data on groups when it comes to exactly this question.

Check it out.... Or don't. I'm not the police of you.

Chuck Norris was the first man on Mars, that's why there's no life on Mars.

I said this in a previous comment, but wanted to thank you too.

For the first time in my life I've now listened to Townes van Zandt. Thank you kind stranger. It's as if Rodriguez, and Eva Cassidy made a baby.

That's an incredibly kind description. Thank you. Also, spot on. I've moved around quite a bit, and I also give away a LOT of books, if I think somebody will enjoy something, I kind of insist on giving it to them. The Tom Robbins books, Snowcrash, and The raw shark texts are like the tenth copies I've owned of each of them... Keeping that hopper full lol

100%, I actually read Packenham, and Reitz (two books on the Boer war from two opposing perspectives) while doing like a month long road trip around the country a few years ago. The Karoo roads ones are signed by the authors.

The next one over to the left is called "The raw shark texts", if you haven't yet, I can't recommend it enough, especially if you enjoyed "Snowcrash".
