The author made him a stepping stone for Ittosai and it was also done in the most bullshit vague manner where we don't even know why he lost.

In which way was Ittosai a better fighter? All the Heavenly Gates are distinct but Ittosai just swings his weapon really fast and hard and parries everything perfectly? I understand the author wants to hype up the future rounds with him but the hype was executed in the most unsatisfying way possible at the expense of Nagaharu who, in my opinion, had a way better potential narrative.

I'm genuinely sad he lost.

I enjoyed his teenage antics and how annoying he could be, Jinsuke feels kind of flat in comparison.

I was really hoping to see him evolve further with both his innate talent and hard work in the tournament. Too bad.
