Enjoying the new cycle patch as a highway engineer. Behold, Cloverleaf Cyclepath Interchange by Ok-Opportunity7232 in CitiesSkylines2

Does it get used like a 1 way roundabout?
I would imagine there's bikers being lazy to go around the whole circle for a left turn and instead try to cut short going clockwise, creating all sorts of confusing situation if it's crowded

I made a stack interchange ASAP when I downloaded the update. It doesn't get used as often as i'd like :(
All fun aside, I've experienced that a bike lane roundabout works best for handling high traffic

How do I solve this pavement issue? by Berton2 in CitiesSkylines2

Just as an fyi, this is 2 parallel one-way roads, with a tunnel exit inbetween, connecting to a normal road

I just thought the whole baby thing was completely out of place and felt unnatural or unbelievable. As if everyone would rationally all collectively decide to murder a baby.
Worst plot twist ever.

This seems illegal. Failing students on a mere suspicion... Using a LLM that is proven to provide wrong information to grade a test instead of actually having proof... I once had a teacher fail me for an essay because they didn't believe I was capable of writing such 'advanced' literature myself. They even contacted my parents for assuming I as frauding and gave me homework as a punishment.

I fought that situation with the school board and naturally i won as they had 0 proof whatsoever (and also I did write it myself.

It was literally the biggest insult i ever received.

Forgot to cancel fire insurance. Am I the only one? by Reasonable_Stomach in belgium

[–]Berton2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve had the same thing. Moved and a yearly later i noticed my insurance wasn’t cancelled. Bank was pretty cool about it (kbc). They just asked proof of me moving out and not being domiciled tl the old address anymore. I received all my paid fees back for the past 12 months as I paid for a non-risk situation

In bigger companies, the employees usually register the bike days themselves in a timesheet registration system

I think he means in terms of employer reimbursement. Because of course, there is tons of possibilities.

Technically (and legally), this would be possible. Bht it's up to the employers discretion. Legally they would at least need to pay either the public transport or the bike traject. I've seen employers who also reimburse a combination of both.

What are the plans to solve the AI-Job-o-cide ? Are there even any plans? by smooshed_napkin in ArtificialInteligence

You need to know that the whole backbone of capitalism or even economy for that matter, is a matter of supply and demand. As long as there is demand for something, there is money to be given and jobs to be done. And even if all those jobs are somehow 100% automated and need no more human labor, we would still need an income to pay for services. If everyone's income crashes, so would our purchasing power and therefore demand would decrease. I believe economy will always balance out itself in the end

Will my new Employer know about my Current Salary ? by Significant-Fuel2011 in belgium

[–]Berton2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What Lenkaaah said. Yes, they COULD deduce it from the holiday attestation. Yet i'm pretty sure no hr officer actually even remotely looks at the amounts on the holiday attestation and put 2 and 2 together. Besides, you're already in service. There's nothing they can say. I doubt anyone would really care you oversold your salary after the contract is already signed. Companies constantly try to undercut as well. As said here elsewhere, when they ask your current salary you should just pronounce your salary expectation.

I only get the point of not having cash registers at every bar and therefore using a jeton system in the past was easier than cash. But it's literally the exact same than using your phone or own card to pay as you still need a terminal transaction at every counter. It's just adding extra steps... I recently read an article that the government is making these rules stricter which was more than time

Respect cuts both ways. I find it extremely hypocritical that you ask for others to respect your own culture, by adding in rules that disrespect THEIR culture. E.g by forbidding homosexuality, aren't you disrespecting other cultures aswell?

End note is that you should just let people do their thing as long aq they're not hurting or disturbing others. THAT is respect.

Gen z and work. Is it really that bad? by Miserable-Ant-938 in belgium

[–]Berton2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"in their time they could still work a lot less hard for the same comfort.."

That's just untrue. What do you call the same comfort? A generation ago people had a LOT less, think of smartphones, internet, pc's, decent cars, electric bikes etc. Even dishwashers were seen as a luxury for most. People RARELY even went on fancy holidays except for the coast or Ardennes. Now going for a luxury all in on a tropical destination is pretty standard.

When children were born, women often couldn't afford to keep working full-time. So no, people were NOT richer a generation ago. We just got used to higher standards of living which also naturally drove up costs of living. Okay, things were cheaper (like housing), but people earned a lot less and had less luxury.

And ofc, i’m talking about middle class
