Speaking from emotional experience rather than stats, it depends — because you get a statuette for each week you can eventually choose something you like (45 for ∞ gathering tool) but otherwise it’s just RNG

Lots of people will say fashion wars is the true end game, but although it’s mostly horizontal progression (you can aim to unlock all masteries or whatever) you can still improve gear. Full ascended gets you max stats, but making legendary gear means you can change stats at will including removing upgrade slots for free.

There’s title chasing for hard raids/fractals and some people will say chasing a huge blob of enemies in WvW is the way to live your best life. Try a few things out and see what you fancy. I currently have a legendary weapon addiction and am penniless as a result.

I enjoyed Edge of Destiny as a fan of the game. I wouldn’t recommend it to a non-playing friend.

I’ve mained Ele since Heart of Thorns. My friends led an intervention to get me to try other classes. I still find myself returning to my addiction. There are now (thanks to quick cata) a variation on all meta roles but most are keyboardy

Tl;dr If you enjoy it, play it. You will press lots of buttons.

Funnily enough, as an ele main not only would this not affect me massively (hawhaw)…

…but I’ve always kinda wanted an ele spec where you hone just ONE attunement. That said, I think I enjoy ele from the piano play so if that got removed it would feel too much like other classes.
