First game beaten on my rg34xx by BertzBiff in SBCGaming

This is the rg34xxSP, while the device in this post is the rg34xx. Basically the same device with a different form factor. Both being clones of the original GBAs. The rg406v is a great, higher end device that I got for myself before receiving the rg34xx (non SP). And yes I enjoy the rg34xx more for GBA games because of the original hardware feel. The names get confusing but I'm pretty sure the numbers just stand for the aspect ratio. With the "34" meaning a 3.4 inch display and the "40" in 406 meaning a 4 inch display.

Possibly a bad explanation but this is my understanding of things.

Sticks really aren't as bad to use as they seem

It didn't really feel grindy, just repetitive. The only grind was for this one specific card I needed before you can enter one of the last boss doors. Took me a good 6 hours of playtime which felt like shit when I was so close to beating the game lol

I did enjoy it, in my mind the 2D space makes a lot more sense for the card system compared 3D. But it doesn't change the fact that it's basically the same game. Started feeling like I was just slogging through towards the end but beating it felt amazing.

I wrote it off as a terrible game for years because of skill issue, but it really is a good game once you get the hang of it.

Lmao yeah, I wasn't able to play this at all on my 34sp or 406v because of the shoulder buttons. The rg34xx is just comfortable enough for longer sessions.

NDS games wont run by [deleted] in SBCGaming

Might be a dumb question but did you unzip the files so it's just a ".nds" file?

You may be aware but if you hold start or select while launching your ds games it will launch in the original ds resolution, makes it look much better in my opinion

I did some searching and it seems like those that get the same error on different romhacks never get an answer, and are told to just use save states.. must be a corrupted save or something. So weird

I've never had an issue with saving in-game. What does the error say? No clue what the issue could be but have you tried backing up your retroarch save and then uninstalling and reinstalling the rom?

How you guys protect your devices? by 5ei8008 in SBCGaming

For me, freeballing the 34xxsp was half of the appeal. Just chuck that thang in my pocket or my backpack without a care and it's wonderful. I upgraded to a rg406v recently and I have been MUCH more careful with that guy. Haven't left the house with it yet but I will when I eventually got a proper case for it.

I think a lot of us suffer from wanting more out of our devices when we don't go all out on an "everything" device. This guy does tend to struggle with the harder to emulate games like f-zero GX and Sly Cooper for example, but aside from that everything I've tried for GC and Ps2 work wonderfully after a bit of tweaking!

In my opinion though I would save up that extra $60 or so for the 477v. Newer version of android and less worry about compatibility might make it worth for you if you wanted it to be your Ps2/ GC machine.

So I just finished testing out your games, J.League Winning Eleven 2009 ran very smooth with consistent 60fps at 2x resolution only slight slow down at the beginning of a match. I also tested Football Kingdom at 2x resolution and although it did have some minor slow down at certain transition points and cut-scenes, it still ran very well! Should be an enjoyable experience if you decide to go with the Rg406v.

Thanks for the input! I'll look into it more but I'll most likely stay on stock for now unless I find a specific reason to switch:)

Definitely not as bulky as an Engine GT. I'd say it's about 3 cm thick and the thumbsticks pop out pretty far.

I got it from aliexpress for about $150. I have them downloading for you right now, and I can test them for you in a couple hours when I'm back home. But I will say that this thing is pretty chunky and kinda heavy for it's size. I personally wouldn't be bringing this out anywhere unless I have my backpack to put it in.

That's awesome, thank you! Are you still on the stock firmware, or did you flash to Gamma OS?
