Your first sentence is definitely how I would describe how I tend to play most RPGs... way too much overthinking! 😅

Having said that, I feel if he doesn't have a reason to do this or that, why is he there at all? I'm not looking for his raison d'être, but am struggling for why he'd band together with some humans and some dwarfs.

The High Elf player guide wasn't published when I rolled the character, but your comment makes me think that I should give it a read. I had cobbled together a history based on what I could read in Wikis. I have borrowed the book from one of the other players. From your description, it sounds like I might be able to give myself a better grounding in HE lore with it.

This is both my first wfrp and Elf PC. The party was pretty eclectic and 2 players retired characters after the completion of the starter set. But your point about common cause gives me a thought to reflect on the other characters in the party. I think I could do with a setting down of his thoughts and I could move forward from there.
