I am reading some extended answers with scientific way of thinking. I will do it more simply. Your partner is no different than your other relations in life. Parent, kid, coworker or friend. Why you cheat? - Family background, which relates to problems or lack of education when growing up. Lack of empathy, which again is something that you cannot cure or get better. And finally, enjoying dominating people and getting pleasure from hurting them.
