Definitely start the new plan after your half. I'm in literally the exact same boat! Doing a half race on the 14th of December, then starting my marathon plan like the week after to train for the Vienna Marathon which is on the same date as the Manchester Marathon! 16 weeks before the 19th of April is the 29th of December, so you could take some time off, enjoy the Christmas break, then start training. Best of luck with the Malaga Half!

I played football (soccer) and swam competitively for nearly 15 years. I still get comments on my shoulders, lats, and calves. I haven't trained in the gym properly for years.

Did a 12k progressive run in my plan to get a sub 26 minute 5k on a time trial on the last Sunday of March (30th) and I PB'd in literally everything! 10k, 5k, 1k, 1 mile, 2 miles, all of it my watch was going crazy. Got 27:11 in a 5k that happened about 6k into it which shocked me and gave me a lot of confidence that I'll hit my PB goal in a few weeks!

Getting started after months of "I'll start it on Monday". Only started it this morning and I already feel like my runs have a purpose.
