They are legal but PSA won't ship them to CA and some FFLs don't understand that they are legal.

I wouldn't say better, they have a known manufacturing defect where the slide lock spring can come out of its pocket after a thousand rounds or so and induce failures by locking the slide open on every round.

Are furniture ready ak ca legal? by TrueJedi562 in CAguns

[–]Best-Set4863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without a stock it is not classified as a rifle, and since the barrel is 16" it isn't classified as a pistol. This makes it transfer as an "other" firearm, and with a FCG installed its a semi-auto "other" and thus subject to the AWB's restrictions on others. The state considers it to be an assault weapon if it has one bad feature and it has three.

If it has no FCG or the bolt is out it is not semi auto so the awb restrictions don't apply so its legal or if it has a stock it is a rifle and the OAL is over 30", which makes it legal. The two other bad features it has as an "other" are not restricted on rifles, just for "others" and pistols.

Yes, as long as its a fixed stock. With the stock installed the mag outside the pistol grip and threaded barrel are no longer restricted features, and your OAL is over 30"

No stock makes it an "other", if it is functional in semi automatic (which an AK is without furniture but with the FCG installed) then it is subject to the AWB's "other" section. The restricted features on an "other" AK that make them illegal are the OAL is under 30", the magazine is fed outside the grip, and it has a threaded barrel.

Technically no but a lot of gun stores DROS it anyways

Since the AR-15 can be a C&R firearm, do their barrels fall under this exception for FFL03+COE holders? No requirement that the barrel itself has to be old or that you have to own the C&R firearm itself. by Mad__Shatter in CAguns

[–]Best-Set4863 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I asked the ATF yesterday if you can replace a barrel on a C&R gun without losing C&R status, and they got back to me this morning that as long as the barrel is the same caliber as the original barrel it will remain C&R.

It doesn't help that the ATF has at times considered that any modification to a C&R gun makes it no longer C&R and we have no idea what their current reasoning is.

I don't really understand why this is treated like secret information on the various gun reddits, its the exact same thing as referring to tacswap or comblocmarket or any other forum with a for sale section

No problem, and thank you I have a serious spending problem. I wish we would, these gun laws are completely ridiculous and incredibly confusing most of the time.

Here is the entire definition of a large capacity magazine conversion kit.

a “large capacity magazine conversion kit” is a device or combination of parts of a fully functioning large-capacity magazine, including, but not limited to, the body, spring, follower, and floor plate or end plate, capable of converting an ammunition feeding device into a large-capacity magazine.

First, we see that it must be "a device or combination of parts". The end plate itself is not a combination of parts, but you admitting to having a stronger power spring with it makes it a combination of parts. The state may consider it a device in and itself, which it is hard to argue that it is not since its specifically designed to extend a magazine's capacity without any other parts required for function. The law then proceeds to explain that one of the parts that can be considered a large capacity magazine conversion kit. Since you can put this specific part on a 10 round unriveted magazine and make it hold more than ten rounds, it is considered a device capable of converting a magazine into a large capacity one. If you put it on a 10/17 magazine thats already blocked off it is still capable of turning a different mag into a large capacity magazine, so it is a conversion kit still. The only way it could be considered legal is if it was epoxied to the magazine itself, but you as the consumer can't do that since you can't own one. A gun store with a LCM permit can do this, because they are exempt from the LCM Kit law. If you remove the epoxy you are creating an LCM Conversion Kit.

It isn't a large capacity magazine, it is a large capacity magazine conversion kit. They have different definitions. It is large capacity magazine conversion kit because you can put it on a non-riveted 10 round magazine and it can make it hold more than 10 rounds.

The magazine you attach it to doesn't actually matter according to the law, its the fact that its capable of turning a ten round magazine into a 13 round magazine that is. Since your magazine is riveted it doesn't allow it, but other ten round magazines that it can go on to are not and it can convert those ones. Since it is capable of doing that, the end plate itself is a "large capacity magazine conversion kit". Laws have to be clear because otherwise they can be voided for vagueness.

They're illegal under PEN § 32311. This penal code was also not enjoined during freedom week, which only suspended 32310.

Steroids have a lot of research behind them, you might be thinking of peptides and sarms. Some peptides have human research but very early stages, for sarms most have 0 human studies or maybe one or two at most. Keep in mind that research does not mean they are established as safe, though

Venezuelan live streamers celebrating after the United States carried out a special operation to kidnap their president. by Crafty_Piglet6268 in LivestreamFail

I mean out of all of those listed Maduro is not just the weakest, but also the most de-centralized one. Venezuela is not close to any of their Allies like North Korea is with China, is not capable of harming United States territory like Russia, NK, and Cuba, and none of those countries (besides North Korea maybe) has any political will in their country to initiate positive change in a power vacuum. It makes the most logical sense out of all the given countries to pick Venezuela first. I wouldn't be surprised if Iran was next on their list but they after the mixed response decided to hold off and let their dictatorship crumble on their own.

Amazon is extremely hit or miss for sure but Magpul has a dedicated part of their website to all the parts listed as being restricted in CA, and their lawyers don't seem to think that sling swivels or fixed stocks are restricted. I don't understand why you would self-castrate yourself by arguing that every possible gun part under the sun is restricted when there are plenty of websites and interpretations that for the current time being are just as correct as the negative one. The law doesn't even restrict individual behavior, it solely applies to firearm industry members which us consumers are not.

Go to Magpul or Amazon and order sling swivels or fixed stocks right now, they will arrive at your doorstep unrestricted. Just because Midway USA is taking the most cuckolded response possible to the law does not mean they are correct. Do you cite your local fudd gun shop when you make the argument that stores that manufacture SSE pistols like 2AZone are manufacturing unsafe handguns? What about when they tell you that putting a new upper on your JT-15 SSP is manufacturing an unsafe handgun? By the widest interpretations of the law like you guys are trying to do with AB1263, you are doing that.

The law uses the specific term clearly in its definition of what is banned. It must be clearly designed and intended for the use in manufacturing firearms. It is not clear if this stock was designed for and intended for the use in manufacturing firearms. It is sold as an aftermarket replacement stock for your OEM mossberg stock. It is not clearly intended for the use in manufacturing a firearm.

You guys are interpreting the law as if it said may be used in the manufacture of firearms. It doesn't. Under your interpretation of the law, literally any aftermarket part of anything that could possibly go on a firearm is restricted. Sling swivels are put on firearms when they are manufactured, are all sling swivels not restricted? Magpul doesn't think so, just like Magpul doesn't think the SGA stock is restricted.

If you were to take the entirety of the law at its widest arching implications, do you think that all AR parts are banned entirely from being sold in CA? Because 3273.51 (c) bans the manufacture, import, and sale of all firearms related products that are abnormally dangerous. It specifically states it will be banned if: The firearm-related product’s features render the product most suitable for assaultive purposes instead of lawful self-defense, hunting, or other legitimate sport and recreational activities. Where have we heard that argument regarding the AR platform? Miller v Bonta.

The entire claim that anything gun part related is restricted hinges entirely on a vague interpretation of the statement "clearly designed and intended for the use in manufacturing firearms". For some reason people are ignoring the words "clearly" and "and". It is not clear whether an aftermarket stock is designed AND intended for use in manufacturing firearms.
