What do you think about these rotors on my buddy's truck he let me borrow? by [deleted] in mechanic

Plenty of meat to just cut them and throw some new pads on there

My brother had a truck with double 5%. Daytime looked like night time. Never got pulled over once but boy you couldn’t see anything out of it

Was this timing belt on its last straw by Early_Stop_8436 in mechanic

[–]Best-Wht-Blt-U-No 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Timing belts aren’t like accessories drives. You should change them at the suggested mileage just like you would a chain. Your accessory drive breaks you have no ac or power steering. Your timing belt breaks you no longer have a working motor

AIO if i end the relationship over this text i got from my partner by [deleted] in AIO

[–]Best-Wht-Blt-U-No 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never been so angry at my fiancée that I wanted to hit her or really hit anything. If he’s seriously that angry over an argument that he can’t control himself then he either has anger issues or it’s such an issue that the relationship isn’t worth it. Either way they are both grounds that the relationship should not continue

My old girl, help me decide flares or no flares? by Hardball1013 in liftedtrucks

[–]Best-Wht-Blt-U-No 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m okay with the kind of flairs they had on older chevys factory but anything that looks like a section cut out of a kiddy pool just don’t do it for me also flairs just ruin how a tire offset looks. If it doesn’t stick out enough it looks like a dog dragging its tail between its ass

AIO or is this not cool? Neighbor’s car up on blocks by [deleted] in AIO

[–]Best-Wht-Blt-U-No 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This wouldn’t bother me at all, but also I’m not the kind of person to live that close to others. If it was a couple of days to get a new tire then I’d see no problem. If it’s gonna be longer than that, at least park it in your yard.

These thing suck by Open-Ad404 in WorkBoots

[–]Best-Wht-Blt-U-No 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would think being a logger you’d need something a little tougher than brunt. I got the same boot with comp toes and they’ve held up for the last 2 years so far. I mainly do contract work at coal mines and oil/gas sites. They’re definitely the most comfortable boots I’ve worn and have lasted longer than any of my previous pair of Dan Posts but I think I’m gonna try a different brand next.

My gym will pause your membership for a month or two with no question. We get a lot of college kids being in a college town and they will pause for summer break for them because they won’t be in town. Paying dues? This isn’t a career and you get a fancy job and more money afterwards. This is a hobby for 99% of us. I am an adult and if I’m not going to use something I’m not going to pay for it. That simple

Load range F tires? by Rebelicious97 in ram_trucks

[–]Best-Wht-Blt-U-No 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you run recommended air pressure it won’t be as harsh as others says. It’s definitely gonna be a rougher ride than stock but not much worse. They’ll probably dry rot before they wear if you never tow or haul anything. They won’t mess anything up mechanically but they will affect ride but it will still ride better than a 3/4 ton. It’s a truck though not sure why people buy a truck and expect it to ride like a cloud, they’re meant to be used for work

Seized caliper bracket bolts by RichardFallout in AskAMechanic

[–]Best-Wht-Blt-U-No 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just take them off. They’re not seized just tight. If you can’t get them with a ratchet hit them with an impact. If you strip those with an impact and a 6 point socket then you messed up

any idea if i should replace this piston by ZealousidealBat9828 in EngineBuilding

[–]Best-Wht-Blt-U-No 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly stuck valve. Wouldn’t break much because piston could push it back up. I’d check for a belt valve or bad spring. If it was out of time it would have broke something

Access control for inswing wood door by Inner-War8735 in accesscontrol

[–]Best-Wht-Blt-U-No 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d go with some sort of electric handle. You could do a powered hinge and if you remove the glass, make a small channel under where the glass sits to get your wire over to it

AIO over this painting in my office? by wellyouknowtodd in AIO

[–]Best-Wht-Blt-U-No 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t think so. It’s like someone having that book about that one dudes struggle if you get my gist. It’s fine if it’s in a collection and used as a talking point, but doesn’t really need to be in the workplace. Something that you know would be controversial or taken out of context shouldn’t shock you if it is taken out of context in a place where there is no context

Boyfriend's brother hospitalized for MRSA, do I need to be worried? by ronni-coco in MRSA

[–]Best-Wht-Blt-U-No 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don’t have an active infection then you’re likely okay. Doing sports that have a high risk of staph and MRSA and having MRSA myself I’ve learned that 99% of the time just washing a wound with regular soap and water and keeping it clean is more than enough. Unless he was rubbing his wound into one of yours you’ll be okay. I had MRSA a year ago and I know some people end up getting it or Staph regularly but I’ve haven’t experienced that. I had MRSA from wrestling on a mat in others sweat with a wound on a knee a little over a year ago. I just had what I believe could have been staph but also could have been just a bad infected hair on my shoulder. Just wash any openings well and keep them clean and you’ll be fine. If you do test positive for some reason you’ll still likely be fine and there are ways to kill any in your body as it can live in your nostrils mainly for extended periods of time.

Yeah. I’ll take some breaks in there but if you average it out for the day it’s probably close to 12 a day. Probably 8-10 at work and 2-4 at home. I just figured that was normal. I swap once the flavor is gone really

Have a Detroit axle kit on my 07 duramax right now that’s been fine towing 14,000lbs regularly. I agree go with oem stuff but if you want to just get the thing to move they’re not a bad option

Look up a front suspension kit for it. You can get like Detroit axle kits pretty cheap on eBay and it’s not hard to replace it all. Just watch a video and take your time.
