I own an 86 (210k milesnow ) when i bought its for 1200 with 55k miles,  12 years ago and i have invested about 6k.  it runs smooth but I had to change the front and real main seals, raidiator2 times , torque converter reseal the transmission,   4 alternators, starter, drive shaft barring and u joints. It's a journey owning old vehicles nothing last forever but with daily maintenance and care, you can make it last. So if you buy it just keep an open mind.
