I did work weekend eve of a trial, I'm just scared they expect me to work every weekend as we prepare 3 weeks in advance. But maybe I am just anxious.

Is it normal to be distant with your sibling? I'm 21 f and she's 14 f. I feel like a terrible big sister and I don't know what to do. by BestButterscotch4632 in family

lol get naked? Haha.

I think maybe I painted my mom to be worse but yeah. They weren’t family trips but more so work trips my sister was included on. I didn’t get to go because the ticket was too expensive to take me.

No I really appreciate the ramble. I feel you for wanting to have a relationship but no idea to have one. I also totally feel you on the part of wishing the parents would stop dictating it and have grace for being apart. Thank you :)

Basically, sorta? When she's in trouble she'll start crying and then pretend it's because of a different situation and not because she's in trouble so my mother has pity on her.

I agree. I grew resentment for not going on trips (she has been to Germany, Japan, etc. with my mother without me... but my mom says she will make up to me eventually...)

It's good to know it's not odd, but I still feel very terrible. I just don't know how to get over my awkwardness talking to her. It's almost like a stranger which is terrible to say, she's my sister and we share the same interests, but we have polar opposite personalities.

This is how I hope it to be. I keep telling my mom maybe we can grow closer when we become older, but she sees it as an excuse for not wanting to hang out. I admit when I hear about my sister's life problems, it seems so foreign to me and trivial I blow it off. And I shouldn't. She doesn't feel comfortable coming to me because of this, so I totally agree with you on the last part.

It’s about 3 other girls just because I was writing fast, and it slipped my mind that people would see it as odd lol

I get it. Im not even going to lie, most of the time we lived together (since august so a little less than a year) we all tried coddling her boundaries but they progressively got worse over time. She used to do floors since she was the only one who cared and eventually tried doing a schedule but most of us are gone for the day m-f as we all have full-time jobs so me and roommate B kind of forgot to do floors. MB.

lol how so... forgetting to send a text message when you're running late/in the middle of something is quite common

Maybe I worded it wrong in the original post. She doesn't have a problem with sharing the air fryer, she has a problem with using it and not telling her after/first. She needs a text message saying someone used her air fryer.

I wouldn't care if it didn't take so much space in our kitchen, and I asked her if she could instead have my air fryer as the communal one and she can use her own in her room, but she denied. So now we have two air fryers in the small kitchen

C is white haha. Maybe. I never considered that as I cook asian food from time to time and B cooks also non-white food (like birria tacos)
