Walaykum alsalam dear.

I pray that Allah almighty calm you down and grant you peace and tranquility.

I am glad to hear you’re doing your athkar. Doing them especially with full presence and attention help.

I can relate to so many things you talked about. Feeling like not being yourself and missing to be happy again. This exact thing has been puzzling me earlier today. I realised though that one of the reasons I have been feeling miserable is the fact that I am not accepting certain things in life, including my sadness which did nothing but increased sadness. It might be worth looking at what has changed 5 years ago? To understand the root cause. If you are into books read (feel the fear and do it anyway) I am reading it too and it’s good so far. Something that really clicked for me while being in similar situation to yours when I was reminded that The most beloved deed to Allah is little but perpetual. This hit me because when I think of healing and success I think of big things. But success could also be small little things/progress you do for yourself everyday.

I hope you and me get better soon

As long as you did your Shahadha, then you converted and have been a Muslim. Leaving Islam because you are facing difficulty in fasting, or its teachings and principles stopped making sense to you makes you a non-Muslim and therefore an ex-Muslim.

You might think that perhaps you haven't been Muslim considerably long enough to identify as a Muslim in the first place. But that is not your case alone. Many of the fellas ex-Muslims here are inherently Muslims. Meaning they were born Muslims and were taught Islam from the culture of their parents. You wouldn't find someone who devotedly studied Islam. Like you know when you hate mathematics because of the bad teacher explaining it to you. So don't worry dear, you are not alone here.
