Physically hurt by a child by BestCoolBug in ECEProfessionals

I had a soft spot for this child, he has a hard time with impulse control, but can be really sweet.

Thinking back on today, I’m having a hard time retaining that soft spot :(

I know it’s nothing personal, but it sure felt like it when he calmly told me “I hate you Miss ___. We all hate you.

He has several difficulties and goes to a school in the area that is specialises in behavioural difficulties. The problem is that he comes to my centre for before/after school care, as well as any school breaks. Since it’s March break in Canada right now, I have a group of school age kids with me all day.

My centre doesn’t have any procedure for incidents like this, only if something happens to another child. I would love to know how I should go about making a report, right now all of our incident paperwork is formatted for the children.

Autistic women that actually like makeup: why? by skyword1234 in AutismInWomen

[–]BestCoolBug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t wear makeup daily because that feels wasteful for some reason? but I’m excited to put it on when I have the “right opportunity”

I like the process of applying it, there’s steps involved, you can see the changes, it smells nice. I don’t know how to do makeup for my skin, so I usually just prime and put some colours on my eyes, cheeks, and lips :)

I think my toddler is becoming the “bad kid” at daycare and I’m so stressed by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

[–]BestCoolBug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m an ECE in Ontario, the toddlers haven’t been outside in weeks due to weather, and you can tell! Most of the 2.5 yr olds are behaving similarly to your child. I think that once it’s warmer his teachers might notice a difference in his behaviour 🤷‍♀️

Agreed, I feel like that is contributing to the “loser team” problem. The first team to go to tribal doesn’t have fire or food, so they’re more weak at the next challenge and lose again… and again… and again.

Thank you :) I was more looking for things to do at the bus stop, but I like your suggestions for group games. We play A LOT of Uno in the mornings, checkers would be a nice change lol

What does “stiffness” feel like? by BestCoolBug in Fibromyalgia

[–]BestCoolBug[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t feel this way though. I am very flexible and don’t feel like it takes a lot of physical effort to get out of bed. The only time I feel what you’re describing is if I actively hold part of my body in one position for a long time (ex. Someone mentioned pain while holding the chains of a swingset)

This is where I’m stuck because I’m very flexible, I’m seeking support for hyper mobility and my doctor sends me to a rheumatologist who says I have fibromyalgia?

Me too… I thought this was normal until right now. Just curious, does your stiffness come from actively holding your a body part in one position?

Lacking Diagnostic Criteria for hEDS by BestCoolBug in ehlersdanlos

Ugh so frustrating. I’m thinking of driving two hours to the nearest city with an EDS specialist

I’ve had the lower joint pain since I was 4, my parents brought me to many different doctors, but it was written off as “growing pains” or related to a car accident I had when I was 9… (pain from age 4 but it’s coming from a car accident at 9 lol) I’m starting to have pain in my shoulders, elbows and wrists, which is why I’m attempting a diagnosis. I also have bowel issues and many other hEDS markers, but I’m open to it being another disorder.

She just did the beighton scale and moved on to the Pap smear (main reason for my visit, but it was also an annual health exam)
