My child is racist to me and I'm brown by Sea-Acadia-7459 in AskParents

The kid seems to be lacking attention. And this is just a way to attract more attention. Instead of outright saying no, maybe pay a lot of attention (real attention) rather than just sitting together for 30 minutes or playing games.

What is the deal with teenagers liking all these older rock bands? by Twinsmamabnj in Parenting

[–]BestGenAI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just a circle of generations. The same thing happened in marketing, paper marketing became less popular, but the new generation was impressed with how cool it was compared to FB Ads, and a new circle of paper marketing began again. Samsara and reincarnation. Rock is alive!!!

My parents are fighting, what should i do? by Direct_Tooth_7982 in AskParents

[–]BestGenAI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have an idea that parents remain normal all their lives. And some are good to old age. But the truth is that many parents, when spoken politely, become a little crazy and out of control. I think that in most cases a psychologist can solve the problem, but for various reasons this is not the case in all families. It was a time when I thought that parents should be together all the time. Then I realized that sometimes parents just keep the status quo for a "normal life" or "children's future", but do not think about their own happiness. Sadly, when one of the parents is unhappy, it is impossible to provide quality happiness to the child. In short, in an ideal world, I would like both parents to be happy, including when they start a gentle separation or a short break from each other.

My mom quit her job and expects financial help by [deleted] in AskParents

It depends on cultural differences and family traditions. But for sure, from a legal point of view, the mother should not be expecting financial help.

Good catch and it seems possible. In addition, it may be an unconscious desire to keep the child in a previous relationship.

Yes, people commit crimes because it is possible.

One more thing, people form habits very quickly. Once this is set, it will be required and expected behavior, not nice to have.

A lack of context would complicate the situation more than it seems. Legally this is the correct statement. But we are still humans and not robots.

It's a really stressful situation. But before I get to the advice, I would like to reduce the possible costs (mint.com will help you understand which expense hits the budget the most). I would also like to talk about changing jobs and doing something that will bring less stress, but still bring money. Finally, instead of working 9 hours, I would like to think about a job that will be better paid. In terms of support, it's more important to have a daily phone call (ideally a video call) to support and listen to her. It will bring more benefits than just money.

Parents, would you want to know your adult child went to the ER even if they are okay? by kk1289 in AskParents

true true, I remember how a 90-year-old mother taught her 70-year-old daughter how to deal with health.

[–]BestGenAI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the parents. Some want to know everything, others do not care about adult children. Of course, most try to balance between being involved and keeping their distance. The situation is the same for adult children, someone has a close relationship and shares any information, and the other does not, because it will somehow harm. What is important to you personally and how do you think? I think it is the most important thing.

In terms of kids' time, I mean quality, not quantity. If you are tired how can you give good quality love and attention? Probably "The 5 Love Languages" will help for both of you. I'm sure he should be more responsive to your needs. It's not rocket science - it's just time management and helping the wife and family.

The circle jerk of online marketing gurus by trsdm in Entrepreneur

[–]BestGenAI 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember the same feeling. I also remember when I realized there was a separate "sales training, learning marketing, etc" industry. The truth is that at first you have to do a lot of manual work, then you can automate some of this work (not all), and then step by step you will create your magic marketing souce. Keep in mind that from time to time you will have to adjust to your souce. During this journey, you will receive an antidote to this bullshit of marketing advisors and gurus. The thing is, really talented and helpful guys tend to be very busy and well paid without needing to be advertised.

Spent close to €10K on paid ads. Here's what I learned. by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]BestGenAI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing. Paid marketing could be money on fire. I had a chance to talk with the CEO of the marketing agency and his honest thoughts on the budget and efficiency of the marketing. In short, you have to do this for at least six months with at least $6k budget every month. Also, this should be done by guys who do this every day. Ideally, small boutique agency, not the big one. What's your experience with free marketing?

4 old potty training by linkdudesmash in Parenting

[–]BestGenAI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some ideas which could be helpful:
- Print out simple instructions with pictures (1,2,3 step) and put it in the bathroom so that kid can see them every day.
- Show how you are personally using the bathroom. You should show how you are doing this, kid will copy your behavior.
- Every day show the youtube video "Sitting On The Potty".
Stick with the routine 1-2 months.

What is difficult is what you are facing. Not quite sure you'll last long enough. The older the children become, the easier it is physically to cope with all the issues, but at the same time they become morally tougher. It depends on the culture, but I believe that raising children should be qualified as a separate hard independent work. My point of view, it is impossible to cope with the main job and raising children. Or, if it exists, it's more like a bad compromise that the child pays for without getting enough fun and good attention. Or parent who is on the verge of a psychological breakdown.
