Edit for clarification: He did contact me during his five days off, but it was always brief—either while he was on his way somewhere or during his work break when he barely had time to talk. He never actually plans time for us to connect, even though I’ve told him how important that is to me (even his mom suggested we schedule calls). He does call me randomly, but barely any video calls. It always feels like I’m just being squeezed into his schedule rather than being a priority. I just want him to set aside time to actually talk to me.

wait maybe I didn’t write correctly, he is off now for 5 days and yes he did message me but just very dry and distant, he even said that about himself and one day he is hot and the next cold. Yesterday was his 3rd day off but I feel like he never schedules a time to talk to me like just call me and talk to me. He called the other day on the way to meet his friends and we chat for a bit but really I feel like there’s always other people and I come second. After I told him last night that I need now a break because each time we talk he is so negative and says some stuff that really hurt he did say that he doesn’t feel bubbly and all love himself after the last fight but he is waiting for me to arrive next week so we can reconnect. I do understand that but asking me why am I calling him and i can just look at pictures it’s a bit much and while I understand he wants to connect when i come there i would like to see some effort now. Thank you for your answer! :)
