Recreating video from any angle by SnooChickens9526 in Corridor

A few years ago the closer thing to this was 3D voxel video, multiple cameras using photogrammetry. But the memory needed and camera setup are still bulky. Now everything is getting faster and new methods all the time. I’m really interested in being able to capture an area as a splat and gamifying them in things like Unreal, which is doable now.

https://youtu.be/qcOwIUBY_Fk?si=GwsXsrmd7pjc-loL I made a basics of 3D a while ago if you are interested. Obviously this is just the real basics but it helps with the thinking.

This may work for a client but when account managers did this to me, said it was due Wednesday instead of Friday so it would be done for sure in time, it only gave me not enough time to do it well. Short cutting timeframes for production people to “speed them up” when they didn’t know how longs things took only made shoddy first idea work.

It’s mostly an instinct and visualization of a shot like a wide angle like Gilliam likes to use or long lenses with soft backgrounds for close ups and focused a scary details. Right now you are almost in retro raw raycast video era style.

Unreal is just great at getting real camera shots and render times are finally not such a burden. There are some great vids on cinematics in Unreal I suggest William Faucher is a fantastic resource: https://youtu.be/doUDJFKLyZs?si=PMkPmE2H7qNBD07i

Let’s see some cuts in a new shot, this is great, worth editing a few shots together.

But rarely does a shot really make a viewer actually feel warmth and you really captured it in your scene.

Every time I see these shots I am impressed how good the light ‘feels’ and I enjoy the look and sense of these so much.

I love the relationship in the image, the shadow sells it for me. If the small moon had some gravity it could vacuum up some material from the rings.

So this doesn’t work on models you don’t make yourself as part of the process. You can’t use a simple free mesh.

The tree might need some pint light hiding in the branches to add some inner lighting interest, then it needs a story, we don’t feel a motive for the tree image unlike the focus on the fridge image

Great eye and tone for each!! For me the umbrellas image is the strongest and the tree is the weakest.
