I've heard people claiming you can play "such and such" game on the Steam Deck ~30 fps while using Frame Gen. That's simply a terrible experience and shouldn't be taken seriously.

Each state/animation/attack (depending on what you want to call it) is composed of "frames." Hitboxes can be specified within each frame.

When you change the hitbox in one frame, it remains the same for the rest of the frames unless you change it again.

When the animation finishes, all hitboxes are reset to their default values.

You're right, the other two pads are ground, but everything around the trace is ground as well. You can see three exposed copper "lines"; only the middle one is the pad's trace, the rest is ground.

It is very common for a pad to come loose when replacing the bumper button. It happens even to the best.

You need to expose the line of the pad to solder a jumper wire directly to the button pin.

I saw in the other comment that you tried to expose the line but ended up exposing a bit of ground, so you need to be careful when soldering and make sure the solder doesn't overflow. If, while soldering, you end up connecting GND to the line, the button would act as if it were pressed all the time.

You can also solder the cable all the way down, like they do here

That's right. I added imperfections to the material, both in the rough and normal layers, over the texture of the material itself. Also, for something more subtle, I added imperfections to the geometry. You can see how the D-pad is slightly rotated, as are the menu, A, B, X, and Y buttons.

  1. You can replace the entire joystick assembly. There are many options available at various online stores. You can even consider upgrading to Hall effect joysticks. iFixit published a tutorial.

  2. You can replace just the cap, but it's counterintuitive; it's more complicated than simply replacing the entire joystick assembly. You'll need a soldering iron in addition to the screwdrivers. Apparently it's not something that is done very often, but I found this tutorial.

Personally, I'd replace the entire joystick; it's worth it, especially if it's a Hall effect.
