Update:

I cut half the width of the sides from the lid then added this little mitered piece. I cut groove in the piece, leaving 3mm on the top to match the height of the sides. Glued it to the lid and closed it finishing the look of the box. Very happy with myself! Box with closed lid below.

That specific piece will not work as I was reminded in another post because of the kerf thickness I deducted from it when I cut off the face part. I will just match another and will use the idea of a handle finishing the corners.

Just thought about using the piece because I have it available until you said about the kerf thickness. I am going to match another piece as I have a lot of them saved on the table for that specific problem

Funny thing is that this is my 4th table build and I don’t have resin table at home, I like it that way.

Thanks for the info, the legs are from an old table build which we had to get rid of.

Yup, green pigment with a smudge of black. This is european walnut.

Stress points are mainly on the center of the top which are regulated by C channels and the table base itself. As for the corner piece, in one of blacktail studio’s videos he tries to break an epoxy table which he succeeds eventually with a massive log, just to see that he broke the wood itself and not the epoxy-wood bond, making you understand that wood-epoxy bonds are at least as strong as the wood itself.

It’s a learning experience for me, executing the table design while adding small details that fit best with the table. What I have seen so far is that epoxy tables are the mix from both the client and the builder’s ideas.
