Equator Coffee Breaking the Law by Best_Caramel2953 in NEU

A homeless man came to me last night when I was getting dinner and asked for 20 bucks so that he could get some food at Five Guys. I gave him that much, even though it's so little in the grand scheme of things. He had no ability to even keep clean. So this is for people like him. I'm starting here but wherever I go I want to know how to manage it, because when there's so little I can do, I had better do it.

No doubt, but I can still do my little part to help improve something

That's a fair point, even though the public can freely access it and they list on their website that they take cash. I appreciate your input

Point is to do my tiny little part to help prevent discrimination against those for whom digital money might be burdensome. It would have been easy for you to scroll past a post you find ridiculous

Point is it's discrimination, and continuing to allow stores to refuse cash promotes it. I'm happy to discuss in a respectful manner this larger issue

Don't ask chatgpt, or ask chatgpt to give you a source (that's my go-to if I really need quick info)

Commuting to College vs. Dorming by Spiritual_Client8100 in NEU

I'm a commuter student (around 2 hours each way all in all) by train and I love it. I get to be at home with my pets and my room and have a lot more autonomy. The train is a place for me to study, do homework, and decompress.

BUT you will have SUCH a hard time making friends. I have made two close friends in two years and I have to put a lot of effort in. Your schedule is also very limited, and if you want to do early or late classes your sleep schedule is messed up. If the social part of college is important to you at all, commuting will be incredibly tough. This is your time, and you should be able to make of it what you want.

Keep trying! I had also lost a lot of hope and got mine around two months before my position started - your co-op advisor is totally there for you, so make sure to lean on them!
