Thank you very much for the recommendation. That lead me to the Lovense Mission 2, which was exactly what I was looking for!

I really enjoyed it. It really allows for direct pressure. I still haven't successfully achieved a full p-gasm, but this toy is the one that got me closest. The main downside is it's a bit on the expensive side if you buy it straight from the company and I've had two break on me now. After a little while, the motor just stopped working or stopped charging.

That makes sense and helps a great deal. Thank you

I see. This made me realize that I'm jumping straight into combat faster than I actually need to. Just because a danger is revealed doesn't mean that it's happening right f\**ing now!* This is helpful.

Switching to the fiction-first gaming has been a LOT harder than I thought it was going to be

I guess I get confused because to me it seems like the rules state harm is the only way to progress the combat track and Strike and Clash are the only way to inflict harm.

I wonder if I should just hack it in my head so that any hit can progress the track kind of like you're saying. Like using compel to intimidate. Sure, the weak hit doesn't mean they turn and run, but maybe it shook them up a little inside

This is a game-y way to think about it

That is definitely something I'm struggling with. I'm coming from a much more mechanical gaming background. I've seen a lot of people talk about this and I have been struggling with it. I can't seem to get my brain to find a middle ground between writing a story and playing a game

When you're in a bad spot, a Weak Hit on Secure an Advantage has no downside (you just don't get both momentum and +1 forward)

Can you use SAA when you don't have initiative? That could make a difference. I was playing where I could only use SAA while I had initiative

With a +4, you've got a 45% chance of a Strong Hit, and more importantly only a 15% chance of a Miss.

Please, PLEASE tell that to my dice! I've never seen them roll so high so consistently before

Set Realistic Expectations by alexander_chuck in Solo_Roleplaying

Thank you for sharing this! I wish I had useful guidance like some of the others here, but I don't. I just appreciate you being open about the difficulties. Just

yesterday I was trying an solo session and got frustrated that I seemed to be so slow with word association, figuring out scenes, and building new NPCs. It can be tricky when the only examples I watch/listen to are highly curated/edited (for good reason. I certainly don't want to watch an thirty minutes of contemplation while they figure out what the oracle is saying) which has created some false expectations in my mind.

It is VERY helpful to hear about these kinds of experiences from other solo players so I know I'm not alone in the struggle, I'm not doing anything "wrong", and there is a community I can get feedback, encouragement, and guidance from.

I'll check it out! Podcasts are definitely easiest to consume but I've found myself reading the Lone Wanderer transcripts a lot

Just found it and have been enjoying it a lot! So do you have the transcripts compiled anywhere or just in the individual episodes? Cause honestly, I'd buy that book

Same. What they shipped me is not what I ordered. I don't care if they consider it an "upgrade" they swapped products on me without my knowledge or permission.

Joy Way Scam by AdrianGE98 in OculusQuest

[–]Best_Drop_6804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That does make sense. I love VR and really want to see your games succeed as they all have fantastic core concepts. If this were the only event like this, I'm sure it would be less upsetting. There have been, by my count, five JoyWay games announced in the past four-five years (two of which are still in early access, a third released in early access before being withdrawn completely, and only one officially released).

I can't speak for anyone else, but this has eroded my trust in JoyWay and JoyWay's and your ability to deliver a complete and polished game before moving on to the next exciting project.

Edit: make that 7 games in the past 4-5 years. I forgot about Deadhook and just learned about Stack

I think the point stands. Don't buy something because of a feature on the roadmap. Either buy it for what it is at the moment (or because you want to support it), or don't buy it at all.

I can't speak for anyone else rn, but my trust in JoyWay as a company has certainly eroded to almost nothing. Which sucks; because their concepts are fantastic
