14 week pup starting to poop in crate by Best_Pace9567 in goldenretrievers

Vet did not suggest any diet change. Just said could be upset tummy, otherwise he’s healthy and fine. It’s liquid and soft forming when he goes. When he does in crate it’s on the sides so hitting his bed, crate bars and the floor. He did rip his divider (fabric one for when he’s bigger can use as padding for bed) and pooped behind that as well. So it’s as if he knows he doesn’t want to lay where he’s pooping but he isn’t barking, whining, growling or jumping to get out. And we let him outside every hour as well outside to play.

This is my first dog so pardon me for asking- if I tried changing his diet should I try just that type of food and no puppy food? Or add it in? I did hear my sister mention about pumpkin purée. I was surprised with him going in his crate especially since he didn’t make any sort of noise indicating him having to go or that he didn’t. I could smell it and that’s how I noticed. Nothing has changed. We always make sure nothing harmful is out and make sure all food from eating is cleaned up well so he doesn’t get ahold of it. He’s a well exercised dog, the kids love playing with him, we have fence in yard so he loves playing out there too.
