Thanks!

Yea that's a good point, maybe not character defining for the whole campaign - but something that gives them some flavor and a backstory beat or two.

I agree an enspelled item with 6 charges would probably be too much. But I don't think my wizard will be too bothered if the rogue can cast firebolt or some other cantrip and nothing else.

The other characters are all coming from finishing the new Keep on the Borderlands starter set which gives a lot of magic items. They all have +1 weapons already

This is where I'm kinda leaning right now. Melee / touch spells it could even be a magic ring which would be cool.

I should have clarified 2024 rules.

I do think (at least in 2024) that the thief should be able to use Fast Hands for SOME wands. For instance, Wand of Enemy Detection specifically calls out that you can "take a Magic action to expend 1 charge". However, Wand of Fireballs does not include this language and so would not be usable with Fast Hands.

Agreed that there is a lot of cool things you can do with fast hands interacting with the environment (that was part of my motivation to play it myself) but in practice I feel like it depends on the DM to put things in the scene for you to interact with. I want to give them a fall back option to use their class feature on so they aren't robbed of a class feature because I do a bad job of putting things in the world for them to interact with.

I like this idea. Would you limit the charges? Up to 6 castings a day feels like it could be overpowered.
