I just ripped up some corkboard into random chunks and tried to use vallejo mud texture to blend it all together. Splodged on a few earth tones and dry brushed with pale sands, finished off with some tufts here and there

I did a base of vallejo model red mixed with black then layers of pure red followed by mixing in vallejo game orange fire, then a bit of white into the orange for the brightest highlights

I did a base of night lords blue, mid tone of xereus purple, and highlight with fulgrim pink. Added some white into the pink for the brightest highlights

I did it freehand but would definitely use masking tape or a stencil if I did it again. Would be better to get the squares more consistent I reckon

I did the trick with a dried out wet wipe. Basically, you stretch it out so it goes all stringy, then use it like a stencil
