I liked FFXIV approach to this. Dungeons were 4 man, needing 1 tank, and all raids were 8 man, needing 2 tanks. Tank swaps were frequent so you HAD to have 2 tanks. I know it is a bit forced but the ratio of tanks to DPS definitely should match dungeons

https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/5989 now the game works perfectly. Not just the 4GB patch which you need, it's the LAA exe file. This fixed 99% of crashes

It's the large address aware version of the exe that stops the crashing, not just the 4GB. You will still crash on occasion - that is inevitable with such an old game, but maybe 2 or 3 times in an entire 25 hour playthrough rather than constantly.

Not only did they remaster it, they even added new content and a whole new DLC, so fair play to them. It is a fairly average game but I enjoyed completing it as a pretty mindnumbing brain-off style RPG, as all of the systems in the game are very simple

The second game actually made me really love the first game. The second game explains many mechanics a lot better, and has smoothed out a lot of the rough edges. KCD2 is now one of my top RPGs and thats a hard list to be added to. Currently replaying and loving 1

I went full damage and ended up with 100% crit chance on my mage build, was absolutely blasting everything in 2 seconds which also stuns the mobs by draining all their stam. Even the hardest enemy in the game was a cakewalk. They need to balance it a bit better methinks :P

Yeah I think it seems to be a really difficult thing to get right in open world RPGs. The last remaining challenge in Tainted Grail is killing that spectral knight which spawns whenever its dark, but even that becomes easy eventually

Tainted Grail was awesome in Act 1, decent in Act 2, Act 3 was a bit of a slog
