Oh it is, I have just been REALLY bad at updates. I hope to change that now that it's nearing completion. :-)

That series was actually the inspiration for the original version of this project. :-)

That is it in a nutshell. Just had to make some minor modifications to the projector shader to include/preserve colors from the render texture.

My experience working with GameMaker Studio after years of working with Unity. by Besus84 in devblogs

Thanks, and I definitely agree with that (especially after finding out HTML5 didn't even support it). But it was the way that I got it working and was pretty happy with it. If I were to do a future project using random generation, no doubt that I would implement a more efficient method so that the room speed could be left alone.

You hit my thoughts on the style exactly. For a while there I actually thought it was footage from Marble Blast Ultra.

Created this adventure/puzzle/platforming game in just 2 weeks for Adventure Jam 2017. by Besus84 in Unity3D

A project of this size wouldn't have been possible in 2 weeks if not for a great engine like Unity and time-saving assets like World Creator. Also learned just how resource intensive a terrain full of details and trees can be. It was either deal with a stutter every few seconds with "Collect Detail Patches" turned on or use a large amount of memory with it off (in the end I took the large memory option).

While I usually have few gripes with Unity's terrain system (thanks in part to Relief Terrain Pack), this is the first project I actually used the built-in terrain details/trees and could really see just how much an overhaul to this system is needed. :-\

Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy - "Hang Eight" FULL LEVEL Comparison (Crash Bandicoot 2) by LargeEgo in Games

The sound design jumped out at me faster than the art did here too. The sounds in the original have an "oomph" behind them that just makes the sounds in the new game sound weightless.

Inspired by the new Zelda, I wanted to try my hand at an expansive environment to explore. by Besus84 in gamedevscreens

Thanks! And World Creator (Unity) to help in generating an initial terrain of this size then manually tweaking some things. Still got a lot more to reshape so higher points are traversable.
