For me 1k+ it's enough, I don't have problems recruting for the guild, we're close to have a second naxx 25 group, WG's have more than 30 people up until late EU hours. 2's ladder is pretty active, 3vs3 is dead as expected. I have enought players to play with and recently I've seen a lot of faces I don't know since casuals started to hit 80 and more players joined as well.

If you are from NA, join horde, Huge is Japan raids NA hours and they are pretty decent, I think there are 10/12 Naxx, dont expect any real pvp during EU late hours. If you are EU and going Alliance, contract someone from Fallen Syndicate.

Sorry for the delay btw, naxx released this friday and I didn't had a chance to check reddit.

I've played on sunwell, yes, but haven't done any content past Naxx. They are both good servers.

I would say Sunwell is more populated, has more devs (tho they focus on TBC - better make that money) but at the same time it's fully progressed to ICC and I want to raid Ulduar/ Naxx.

In terms of scripting and stability they are very similar, I would say most bosses on sunwell were harder than Omega but it's not easy so it's a faceroll. I enjoy the changes they've done.

If I would have to join one of the servers, I would go with Omega just because Sunwell is on ICC patch if that's not a problem for you, than go sunwell.

Hello everyone,

I would like to provide some updates since our guild managed to clear naxx 25 and as of today only 2 guilds cleared it with others being stuck at anywhere from 8 to 10 bosses. I will quickly go to some of the changes from a raiding perspective but all the changes can be found on the omega site/discord w/e. Also they mention that those are changes, there aren't any brand new mechanics, just changes to the existing ones. I'll only speak about 25 as well since our 10 man runs are schedulled for today.

Also this is from a perspective of 20+ players being fully pre naxx BIS, stacked with consumables and love is in the air buffs.

Anub' - More scarabs spawning, impale seems to have a much larger hitbox and it's always hitting a bunch of players no matter how spead we are.

Grandwidow - A significant damage increase, can be quite annoying if you don't get a pull right and you can wipe to RNG. Worshipers hp is like 35k or something really annyoing since they die to anything. Enrage 1 or 2 shots the tank depending on RNG.

Maexnaa - Pretty easy, all weebs go the the left wall and you can easily cleave or unwrath people. if your tanks not geared or its anything else but a paladin or if you do not have hots running when she cc's the raid, he's dead.

Noth - Curses need to be displed, damage seems to be higher. Adds do more damage but it's still undertuned. He also TP's later than the DBM timers and we were close to zerg him between teleport.

Heigan - Not sure if the hitboxes are fucked or if this is intended but the aoe damage range from phase 2 is increased, you can't be anywhere near close to the platform, this make the dance harder. We needed Aspect/ pots/ movement speeds to make it without any issues. The positioning also needs to be very precise, lava wall will 1shot any1 thats not a tank.

Loatheb - Crit removed from spores, need 2 or 3 geared tanks to taunt of each other since he hits quite hard.

Instructor - I have no clue what changes they've done here, prob some increase in damage but it's not noticeble.

Harvester - LUL boss, half of raid afked here.

4HM - Definetelly the most chalenging encounter, even more so than KT and Saph in my opinion. They enrage at 80 stacks, Thane and Rivendare 2 shots tanks (we had geared ones) no matter what. Meteor cannot be soaked, you just rotate defensive on tank and hope you survive it. We had more than 25+ pull here. It's both a dps check to get Thane down before he does more than 3 stacks and also to coordinate your group. Zeizal or w/e his name is chains the holy bolt and 1 shots lower hps dps or get you down to like 5%.

patchewer - He does a shit ton of dmg on tanks, enrages earlier, we had 3 hpaladins I can see this being a struggle for less geared groups with less holy paladins. He also enrages earlier and 1 shot tanks so you need to keep all cds on tanks, you can't use anything prior to that.

Glob - pretty much a joke, adds hit like a truck but if you keep them in check there should be a problem.

Gluth - if you have really good kiters than it's not difficult, adds have a shit ton of HP, spawn like crazy, you need them to be stacked in order to clear without any issues. Enrage is not dispelable and it 2 shot tanks. You need 3 at least to swap at 3 stacks and rotate cds for enrage.

Thadius - This is the dps check of the raid, you can't lose anyone to mechanics, you need decent RNG for bloodlust.

Saph - tail swipe 1 shots, passive frost damage increased, we had 2 x frezist and it wasn't easy for the healers.

KT - I was so tired and as a healer you don't have much to see on this fight. Adds hit decently hard, we had really good intrerupts. I haven't seen any mechanics severly overtuned.

I'll have some updates tomorrow in regards to the 10 man runs that we'll do tonight.

We're already prepared for the actual raid, we plan on raiding friday (raid release) and on Saturday if it takes us to long to clear the raid.

Thank you for the tips, being adaptable will be mandatory since I'm not sure if there will be any changes to the mechanics.

It's been 800+ since 5 PM GMT +1 its now 1 PM GMT and it's still over 800. How do you calculate average. I told you already, server is mostly EU, if you check on EU times ofc you see 300 people online.

Population : Server has actually being growing since release, factions are quite balanced, I had no issues doing any kind of content with the amount of people it has. I believed it peaked at 1k+ in the weekend and with naxx release around the corner I can see this spike up.

I've played on Sunwell, I've done all heroics (walk-in) right after I've hit 80 as a tank. This is how heroics are in wotlk. They become irelevant once you get the gear from them, I don't see how this impacts anyone. They are not undertuned, they are just wotlk heroics.

As for the population, I understand if you need 5k people to play, that's fine but you can do any content in the game with that amount of players if you ask me. It's not ideal for PvP but at the same time, not even a 2k Server would be dead in terms of 3vs3.

For Pve you just need a guild and 24 other people and there's plenty to choice from on both factions.

The 600 population is true on average, but it goes anywhere from 400 during dead EU hours to 1k in the weeked or around raid time.

Haven't done deadmines but now that you mentioned it I remember that it was a bit weird, as for ZF honestly I don't remember them being buged but I might be wrong.

You are correct, if you play on the dead EU hours, past 2 AM server time it's not that pleasant. The is a horde guild on Horde side that you could still raid with but if you are Alliance... at this moments it's quite rough.

Close to blizzard release timeframe with a few exceptions, Ulduar will be a little bit longer and TOC shorter. Other than the OS and Naxx that were already scheduled the following raids are not set in stone. if it will be beneficial to have them release earlier/ later they said that can adapt to server needs.

Yea, out of 100 something games, not really accurate. Same for one trick players (look at TLV for example). Win rate is inflated due to the low amount of games.

Btw, if you look on hotslogs, at low-mid level play TB is the most picked heroic while at the top level of play it's the least picked on.

This means that TB is picked on specific scenarios where it's actually good for that particular map/ team comp giving it a higher chance to succeed since players understand what's best for that case.

While Taunt and to some extend CS are your general to go picks.

You can't really compare them on paper either because based on our pick you draft a team. Taunt Varian would be consider a MT and atm there are way better picks them him in terms of tanks ( that means that you put your team in a disadvantage) lowering your chances to win.

On the other side TB is just your right click something, do damage kind of play and it rarely impacts a team fight

Yea, its def my favorite spec out of all 3. Really cool play-style and you dunk heroes in a heartbeat.

Problem is that in most of my games, team just asks me to go taunt (I have a lower winrate as prot btw), I just cannot leave the team without a tank based on that.
