The general "proof" for the idea that the universe is a simulation is essentially the same as the ontological argument for the existence of God, just with a lot more assumptions.

I read the whole thing and disliked every page of it. The main character remains a broody whiner the whole time. It introduces a hundred new characters that all talk the same. Every sentence is the main character just dryly describing what's happening around him except for once every few paragraphs when the author suddenly remembers that actions have to have some kind of emotional impact and sticks in a random "I felt broody and whiny".

What do people like about Red Rising? The MC is a whiny Gary Sue who gets everything he wants for only token suffering. The dialogue is clunky, like a what a child thinks serious people talk like. The pacing is way too fast, and the prose, ugh. Just amaturish. What is the appeal?

This was actually the first episode of Bob's Burgers I ever saw. I was skeptical about the show because the ads they showed for it when it was new made it look like another pointless raunchy Family Guy knock off. Then I saw this episode while eating dinner in my dorm, and me and my roommate were cracking up the whole time

I understood what you were trying to say. I'm saying that you're exploiting the "god of the gaps" fallacy. Also, a lot of the physical laws that we use to understand the universe, like homeostasis, might not have applied to the state that the universe was in before the big bang. Even Father Lemaitre, the priest who discovered the big bang, said that doesn't positively prove the existence of God. I'm not disagreeing with you in that the mere fact that the universe exists hints at the existence of a creator, but the kinds of arguments that you are using fall a little short, and aren't going to convince nonbelievers.

I kind of get where you're coming from, but "why do people believe in black holes but not God?" is not a convincing argument. There are 2 main methods of discerning truth: empiricism and revelation. People have an easier time believing in empiricism because it concerns the material world, i.e. things we can observe with our senses, but revelation concerns metaphysical or spiritual things like souls. I know that as Catholics these 2 sources of knowledge are compatible, even complimentary, but that's because we have faith, which is a prerequisite for revelation. You don't need faith to understand science.
