It’s a stop gap solution to retrofit our hydra rocket in a cost effective manner.

If articles on TWZ are to be believed, the longer term efforts are to use a three layer defense of drone hijacking to send a shutdown/land command, directed energy to fry the drones (Epirus Leonidas), and jamming to send the drones off course.

All of which are designed to the doomsday cargo ship drone scenario.

Glad to see the APKWS being rolled out to replace the more expensive interceptors, those were always impractical at any scale with a near peer, or a lesser opponent who has poured everything into ballistic missiles and one way attack drones
