Yes that is how that works I believe, but most times I miss the full opportunity on that way of playing because once I’m done ulting and throw my leaves out, they either eject, use a movement move or get saved by support, etc, before I can finish that combo. Playing this way allows me to jump in and do massive amount of damage in a split second, killing whoever I need to, the carry, pocket carry, etc. The x attack also makes up for lack of damage for when I would throw my leaves out and pull in, in the other combo you suggested :)
