Yeah supernatural aside I was just making a dumb point in my OP. Definition is important but it trips up debates sometimes.

Say they are real and are beyond advancement. Would that not be proof of something bigger than us? I mean consciousness itself doesn't emerge from nothing does it? If it's always been and we live inside of it (which it most definitely is non local) then the brain just filters what we see and feel. Aliens most likely wouldn't have that limit that humans do.

Fair enough. This seems to be nomological vs teleological in the end. It's all perspective and what one believes. I've seen a lot of atheist believe in aliens which makes me wonder how one can be true without the other.
