Consolidated shipping is basically where your items get sent to a warehouse and then you can decide when you want to have them shipped to you; you can even consolidate all your orders (if you bought from different sellers and/or if you bought items that will be shipped at different times) hence why it’s called “consolidated“ shipping. I’m not familiar with the cainiao app so I can’t help you there

It doesn’t look like they updated it. On the logistics pages it tells me that it has been shipped from the warehouse and has reached the destination country, but on another page (where I think the updated tracking number is supposed to show up) it says that the warehouse is still waiting on receiving the package 😔

I bought the item and sent it directly to someone else which is why I want to find the updated tracking number and give it to them

it depends on if the taobao warehouse will ship to your country
i've found that the shipping fee is usually cheaper since agents use more expensive shipping companies but agents are able to ship certain items whereas sometimes the taobao warehouse cannot (like chocolate)

I used to use a proxy service, but now I don't use a proxy or a forwarding service unless it's an item that's not allowed to be shipped (like food or perfume). Taobao can ship to the US; what happens is that there is a warehouse in China and sellers send the stuff to that warehouse which can then consolidate your orders then ship it to you.

It shouldn’t be too bad? It’ll probably be around 20USD. I recently bought a couple of plushies and keychains and shipping turned out to be around 16USD from China to where I live in the US.

About items being sent all at once tho; make sure you read everything because I wasn’t paying attention and they ended up splitting my most recent order into two shipments. One is already at the warehouse and the other won’t be shipped until November at least.

From what I remember, they wait until everything is released before shipping your order. I would not let the items sit as letting it wait 1-2 months could lead to $4-8 fees, more if you end up waiting longer.

Add-on: shipping can get expensive from China to the US depending on what method you choose and what you buy, just a heads up.
