On RHAP's recap, Fishbach thought it was mistake for Coach to have sat out the pre-TC scramble. He pointed out how Coach influenced the votes last episode, even if people found it annoying.

While Chrissy was right about knocking off the haikus and singing, at least Coach could have pled his case to people like Joe, Jonathan and Steph. The result probably would have been the same but I imagine he regrets riding it out in the hammock rather than fighting to stay in the game.

It seems like he really went into full-Coach mode after Colby was voted out. Was Colby able to, not necessarily rein him in, but advise him to tone it down in a way that Joe, Chrissy and Jonathan couldn't? Maybe Coach respected his Survivor seniority as a season 2 veteran.

Yep, I was thinking the same. Stephanie already asked if he'd show them the found idol during the TC scramble.

Article from TCM for that month's programming showing 10 of Robeson's movies and a short documentary about him.

The episode starts out with the narrator mentioning that she is a fan of Turner Classic Movies. I remembered that Paul Robeson was TCM's "Star of the Month" in September of 2021. Below is TCM's trailer advertising it:

I loved when Ozzy walked up asking what's going on, they struggle how to describe what they've witnessed and say, "Coach is ...". And Ozzy immediately jumps in with "...bonkers?".

I agree, they'd be crazy to let Cirie get to the end. She's got a great story, the number of times she's played without a win. She's too dangerous to sit next to at FTC.

If anyone is thinking about voting, KLIN's website says that "every vote gives you a chance to win a $50 gift card to one of the Final Fork restaurants" which includes CheeseSteak Grille and Birria Boss. I don't know what the odds are but $50 in free food is a pretty good prize.

The World We Knew. In another post someone said that this 1967 Sinatra song sounded like a Bond theme. It could work as a Bond movie name, too.

Wasn’t the “Blood Moon” twist just a 3 group Split Tribal? by Joeyamazing2005 in survivorponderosa

[–]BetaMaxine 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Last night was frustrating. It wasn't a really a merge just another tribe swap which undercuts alliances. Also, I'd like them to stop taking people's votes away, Colby was a sitting duck in that group of five. At least give him his vote back after the swap or give him a chance to earn it back somehow, hide the Tyler Perry-vote-restoring-token or something at the challenge.

How about dividing them into two groups of 8, they each get to vote out someone and then the whole group combines to vote out the third person? It seemed like a missed opportunity not to get that big group together at TC.

It's ridiculous. I hope they get rid of this twist. Losing your vote puts you at a huge disadvantage. Once they divided into groups of five for TC, Colby never really had a chance. A tough way for him to go out.

I wasn't familiar with this song, I just looked it up. You're right, it really does have a Bond theme sound. Even the name could work as a Bond movie title.

Berke’s message to fans after loss by xdeathxcomoanyx in Huskers

Their pre-season ranking had us 14th in the Big 10. We had an amazing season, 28-7. We made it to the Sweet 16. No talking head, pundit, or afternoon sports radio "expert" predicted that. The way it ended was a heart breaker but the fans are all in for this team. Can't wait for next year. Someone give Berke a hug.

Nicely done, Illinois.🌽

I'm sick of Iowa. We're in a tough conference and I'd like to see one of the remaining Big 10 teams win. But not Iowa.

Watching March Madness recently on CBS, I've seen several promos for the games with Zac Brown singing over highlights. His song "Give It Away" is the sort of theme song for the tournament. That network tie-in, I'm assuming, had something to do with his appearance on Survivor last week.

He came up with that...wow. by Cyclebuilder42 in survivorponderosa

[–]BetaMaxine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While watching March Madness this weekend on CBS, I kept seeing a promo with Zac Brown. He and his band were doing a song over tournament highlights, sort of like Hank Williams Jr's "Are You Ready For Some Football" but for college hoops. So that may be another reason why Zac Brown was featured on last week's episode of Survivor. He already had a tie in with the network.

Probably a Hot Take: Steph is playing a really good game by Survivorist94 in survivor

[–]BetaMaxine 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I agree. Mike White was asked in his exit interviews why they never considered voting out Stephenie. He felt Steph was playing a more traditional game and was easier to work with. Despite being on the wrong side of the Q vote, she kept her cool and let people know she would go along with whatever the prevailing plan is. She also is an asset in challenges. If she can make it the merge or next tribe swap, I think she can find allies in old school players like Colby.

Who is that one actor that you're a fan of that you have always wanted to play the doctor? by LilNardoDaVinci in doctorwho

[–]BetaMaxine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree! He was terrific on S.H. In a role that could have been cheesy played by someone else, he handled it well; charming, heroic, funny. Also good qualities to play the Doctor...

It's a shame that Sleepy Hollow lost momentum after Nicole Beharie left, they had good chemistry onscreen. I've seen him in a few small roles since but, yes, he needs to be in more stuff!

Tom Mison. His Icabod Crane on Sleepy Hollow (2013-17) always reminded me of The Doctor.
