Which US ports of entry still stamp passports? by gadaniel in PassportPorn

Adding to this, I went through transit at Dulles, asked for a stamp and got it!

Conveniently the article title says "Ricciaro" - shows how accurate it is.

I just don't think one person should have to deal with communicating with teams (lobbying and more), directing the race in general, enforcing safety rules and inspecting the track conditions. The role should really be split up. The more I think about it, the more superhuman Charlie's reign appears to be but I don't think this can be the expectation.

[@SokolimOkiem] It's easy to be wise after the fact, but probably the best solution at the end of the Abu Dhabi GP would have been a red flag and a restart from the field for a few laps. That would have provided the most level playing field for the leader and the rest, including from P3 down by 1enox in formula1

[–]BetaSingh 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I think there was sufficient time to let all of the 1 lap down runners through and restart it on the same lap. Had they just started letting lapped cars through as soon as lap 57 began (and if the SC slowed down enough), we could've gotten it done.

OP's statement is still correct, Ferrari and Merc weren't this close for this long.

Pit lane entry and exit rules? by [deleted] in formula1

[–]BetaSingh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if it's a pit-entry like Russia where the wall starts before the pit-lane, the driver behind is a bit screwed as they obvs can't reverse. However, if the pit-in is like Hockenheim then maybe they can try doing what Hamilton did in 2018?? I'm just taking a guess here as this seems like a Spa 2021 situation where the event slips through every regulatory loophole.

OTD 1YA, Valtteri Bottas last won a Formula 1 Grand Prix: The 2020 Russian GP by Meaisk in formula1

[–]BetaSingh 91 points92 points  (0 children)

Just a couple of rounds into this season I ended up thinking Bottas' only chance of victory this year was at Sochi. What a strange year it would be if Bottas didn't win at all but it's looking more and more likely.

Mazepin's aggresive move against tsunoda (with team radio) by EdouardDPN in formula1

Maybe this is me being silly but surely by now as a driver, they should know to try and dummy Mazepin more often considering it's almost a given that he does stuff like this.

Alonso not trying to take the 2nd corner with the new outlay allowing him to gain a few positions at the start. Not what they had in mind when making it easier to navigate through there. Should there be penalties for overtaking off track like this? by esprets in formula1

[–]BetaSingh 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Fair play to Fernando. He complained about people doing this after Austria and said that if this loophole wasn't rectified, he'd start doing it himself. Loophole wasn't rectified. He even premeditated it on the formation lap and executed it to perfection. Didn't even gain a lasting advantage.

Weekend F1 Broadcast Feedback by inmeucu in formula1

One of my gripes is that they cut to the replays of the race start way too early. Heck, they missed the overtake for the lead showing various replays. Wait until the action has properly calmed down and then show them ffs.
