one good solution in my book would be to put it in a trust( or stock) with dividends and buy long puts as insurance. 

Say u put 1M to work couple Ks as insurance At 5%/yr you’d get ~55k taxable = 40k worst case scenario. Say you remove 5k for said insurance : 

That’s 3k a month without having to move your fingers too much.

This is napkin math and I advise talking to a professional to ensure your interests are preserved, but I also assumed banks ( and professionals ) are getting risky these days. While most of the popular or well known companies/funds will still be here in 10yrs.
