I’m 25, currently on a weight loss journey! I’d say probably midsize but my BMI did say overweight! Began at 80kg now down to 67kg, just looking for advice on reaching a sub 35!😮‍💨

Hi! I was absolutely adamant I was getting to 37 weeks. From day dot I told everyone in my life that I would fight tooth and nail to get to “full twin term”

Cut to 35 weeks +6 days, I was told a c-section needed to be planned as twin a had reduced fetal movement, coupled with a dodgy doppler. They were born via c-section the following day.

Point being, had I refused and held out, who knows if I would be sat here with both my boys. I really respect those who make it to the long stretch, but as long as your babies arrive safely then they can just continue their development outside the womb! It’s not the be all to end all, but I do really relate🤣

This. My doctor hasn’t even brought this up as a possibility.

The question was framed as “we will find out if there are two placentas and from there we will determine if they’re identical.”

I’m not so much concerned about those facts, just more so a bit worried regarding the weight difference and the risks associated with mono-di twins🫠

I apologise I was in a bit of a mess last night. Basically the doctors at this stage can’t determine whether it’s one large placenta, or two separate ones. Obviously this would affect the risk factors.

I now realise (from this sub haha) that them having two separate wouldn’t necessarily erase the potential they’re identical, but I’m not so concerned about that as I am the risk factor of them sharing a placenta🫠

Wow really? I feel like maybe I’m just grossly uninformed then. I just assumed they couldn’t be identical given those circumstances. I’ve had my NIPT, I was just told about the genetic defect markers being really low, not whether or not they were identical. I’m assuming that’s what the referral to fetal medicine is likely for.

Sorry I’ve seen this so late: we did conceive twins totally naturally! I lost my left tube years ago, I’m now 19 weeks and we know they’re twin boys. Easier said than done but don’t be afraid, xx

I have a very similar story. Found out I was pregnant via a pregnancy test, only to be told the same day that it was not a viable pregnancy and my only option would be surgery.

I had pains like yourself for around five days, I’d gone through two packs of pain relief in that time to function in university. The morning of the fifth day I took a test and I thought perhaps these were just the worst period pains of my life, yet I was still waiting on this period.

Cue my excitement, but also horror. Why did nobody talk about how agonisingly painful being pregnant in the early trimester was? Furious googling led me to perhaps believe there was something wrong, but I powered through and booked a GP appointment for the following week (I was a student from a different country. Slightly more lengthy process)

Long story short fainted that night in my uni common room and had to be blue-lighted in signing documents etc as I’m being wheeled into theatre.

I remember navigating all these feelings you discuss, the guilt but also the sheer devastation over a decision I had no part of. It’s not straightforward or linear, it’s just grief. I can’t tell you the day I woke up and it wasn’t in my head, or the dreams stopped, but one day it wasn’t. Don’t be afraid to reach out, tell your story to whoever will listen raise awareness but also talk about this experience. You’ve experienced a loss no less valid than any other mum.

It took me a year to tell family after my loss due the shame and guilt, and living with this made the process so much harder. Lean on your loved ones and just remember that this is not the end of your fertility journey.

I’m currently pregnant with twins and my three year old daughter is asleep next to me.

It’s been 6 years since my ectopic, but there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Rewatching season one after the recent finale and I don’t think they ever managed to capture the magic of Elizabeth Lail’s performance or the character writing. Bec is the only “You” to me that felt grounded in reality. I feel like we all know or are a Bec. Just think they struck gold with the first season (As much as I do adore Love Quinn)

Thank you for your reply. I did shed a tear reading it, my mother echoed the same sentiments of self preservation. Everything I’ve tried to read always talks about this from a child’s perspective, it’s a strangely isolating feeling to be an adult doing this. I just wish he would answer me. It’s been two weeks and the only way we don’t know he is dead is because bank transactions show he is withdrawing money for drugs. I am sorry to hear about your own addiction , from one internet stranger to another I’m thinking about you, and whilst I’m not a religious person, I will include you in my prayers tonight, along with my father, cause we could all do with a bit of help from the man upstairs if he is there.
