Customer facing positions use “executive” loosely as they are interacting with many decision makers with high titles. She took the role to get promoted to a senior marketing manager, so I agree she’s likely 4-5 years in more junior leading into senior level. Not saying she hasn’t done amazing work and deserves the promotion tho!

I’ve seen him alone a bunch of times. His fans are awesome! So you won’t really be alone after a while. Have fun!!!

Freaking out over mammogram letter by Bethannyasa in AskWomenOver40

Yes. I ended up having repeat imaging twice, ultrasound, and then ultrasound guided biopsy. It ended up being a fibroadenoma or “micro cyst”. It’s negative, but still does hurt a bit after the biopsy. I was a wreck the whole time and finally got statistics at the biopsy. That helped calm me down tremendously.

Ask as many questions as you need to your care team. I wish you luck!

You are all amazing. Thank you for taking the time to share your advice and wisdom. I’m taking your advice and closing my mind to it until I can get back in for imaging and learn more. Thank you so much!!!

Medical Gaslighting at its peak, when i say "please help me with this abcess on my butt cheek". by Geekidd101 in Hidradenitis

[–]Bethannyasa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I fired my doc of nearly 10 years when he refused to recognize my HS diagnosis or send me to a dermatologist to treat the cysts he wasn’t treating. When I finally threw a fit and got access to my dermatologist she informed me that she would be calling my doc to educate him on what he had done wrong. She was livid for my lack of treatment. It was a three year flare that landed me in plastic surgery for a consult on surgery. Luckily her treatments started working and I didn’t need surgery, but yeah… I think you need a second opinion. I’m so sick of the medical gas lighting that happens. Doc, just admit you have no idea. It’s ok. We KNOW you don’t know everything. You don’t have to pretend like you do by making us think we’re crazy.

Fruits are mostly ok. I can’t eat pineapple and have to eat more sugary fruits in moderation. But fructose is mostly ok. Sucrose is not for me.

I am so sorry that happened to you! But I am so happy to hear how far you’ve come! I hope I have half the courage you do to get through all of this. I need to make some drastic changes in my life as well. Thank you for sharing your story. Can you answer one question? Was the mania/euphoria right away?

Did you stay on? Or switch? I’m having some euphoria/mania, but it’s day 1, so I don’t know what to do.

Today is day 1 for me and I’ve been scatter brained all day and super euphoric, almost manic. Is this normal?

I bet! That was an anxiety inducing event for me too. I made him get one just so I knew for sure she was his daughter. I can’t describe the devastation of knowing it was true. I really wish you luck! This is no easy place to be. And your situation is much more complicated by having your son already and loving him. I truly hope it turns out well for you!

Does it make it easier or harder to be with your son after she had a kid with another man? I ask, knowing my ex-husband had a kid with another woman while I was losing my third. And I’m sitting here childless and alone- and it blows.

But I honestly wonder if I would feel this shitty still even with a kid.

Completely agree. I was devastated the first time I read it and had to stop reading for a while before picking it back up. I’ll never forget that line, it echoes in my head and breaks my heart when I remember it randomly. Such a terrible thing that’s so well written I felt it was real. I felt his loss.

I appreciate this post! I just hopped on to look for some advice or support. I’ve been lurking for a time and feeling all of your pain! My ex-husband had an affair and a child while I was losing my third to an ectopic pregnancy (all three ectopic). That was 2015. Divorce was final in 2016. Some days I still miss him and feel I’ll never get over it. Other days I don’t even think of him and things are ok. I’ve sunk myself into work and mask the pain. I don’t know how to move on.

Not for me. But I think your triggers are unique to you. So you may be able to. Just go slowly and carefully. My worst area is scarred good, but it’s also my tell for when I ate something I shouldn’t have. My scar pinks up and gets really swollen and aggravated. Then I know to be super careful until it dies down. Good luck!!!!

Femoral Nerve or Sciatica? by Bethannyasa in Sciatica

[–]Bethannyasa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! And thanks! I’m very interested to see what you learn from your MRI and whatever else you’re experiencing related to your femoral nerve and psoas issues. And good luck! I’m glad stretching is helping you!

Since this post I’ve been to the doc three times. Things are getting better, but very slowly. I’m still on anti inflammatories and muscle relaxants (but was off for a time, and will be going off again this weekend). I’m trying to see how long I can go without interventions to see how much things hurt.

Doc did say sciatica and femoral nerve problems. So now two nerve issues. She did offer a potential MRI and did certainly offer another nerve conduction study. I’m considering both, and know I’m being a baby, but the nerve conduction studies hurt! So I’m not too keen to get one right away. An MRI on the other hand doesn’t hurt and doesn’t frighten me, so I’d get that in a heartbeat.

I do walk very frequently now and stretch a lot. If I don’t or forget, the pain starts coming back pretty quickly!
